The Friday Face-Off was created by Books by Proxy, where each week bloggers can showcase books with covers centered around a weekly theme. You can visit Lynn’s Books for a list of upcoming themes. Join in the fun each Friday by finding a book whose cover is based on the theme!
This week’s theme: Dressed in white
I did a “white book cover” Friday Face-Off earlier this year, so today I’m picking one of those books and comparing covers. An Unkindness of Magicians by Kat Howard was pretty good, although looking back I had some issues with it. But I love the original cover, and there are some decent alternate covers too, take a look:
U.S. Saga Press edition 2017 | Romanian edition 2018
German edition 2018 | Russian edition 2019
My favorite is still the U.S. cover, for it’s weird creepiness, but I also love the German edition. Do you have a favorite?
I love the US one, but I agree the German one has something special about it!
No clue how it fits the story but I like the Russian cover with all the grasping branches.
I agree with you on the cover.
This is a great choice of book for today’s theme, and I’m going to have to go with the Saga Press edition as well!
I loved the US cover as well, Tammy.

I really like the UK cover with the German cover as a close contender. I haven’t read this one – but I LOVE the title. Happy New Year, Tammy:))
The “chill factor” of your choice looks perfect for this week’s theme 🙂

I really love that cover for An Unkindness of Magicians. I think I may have picked up a copy just seeing the cover LOL.
I do like the German cover but I think your choice just manages to hit the right note somehow.
Happy New Year Tammy – hope your Christmas was lovely.
Lynn 😀
