Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D
Five days till Christmas! I hope everyone who celebrates is in the holiday spirit. I am finally feeling it, since both my kids are now home from college!!! I ordered beignet mix and we’re going to make beignets this weekend, I’m so excited. Does anyone out there have a special holiday recipe or drink you like to make?
Because it’s Christmas week, I don’t have a lot planned on the blog and I’m going to spend more time with my family. But here’s what I do have coming up:
Upcoming reviews:
Looks like I’ll only be posting one review this week, and that will be Betty by Tiffany McDaniel. I was hoping to have it up tomorrow, but it will probably be posted on Thursday. I’m about halfway through as I write this, and lordy, this book is something else. It’s going to take me some time to get my thoughts in order. It’s literary fiction, which I know you guys aren’t used to seeing on this blog, but I am loving it. Such a sweet, heart-melting, heartbreaking story.
Upcoming reads:
After Betty, I’m going to dive into A Deadly Education. A lot of you are curious to hear my reaction, plus I’m dying to read it! And I would also like to get ahead with my January review books, and two that I’m super excited about are In the Garden of Spite and The Effort. I’ll most likely hold my reviews until January, but for once I’d like to have a couple of books read before the month starts.
The usual memes…
On Tuesday, I’m going to share Eight New To Me Authors I Discovered in 2020; on Wednesday I have three new books to share for Future Fiction, and Friday is Christmas, but also The Friday Face-Off. Not sure yet if I’ll post that day, but it’s a freebie day, so we’ll see if I can come up with an idea.
In case you missed…
Here are my posts from last week:
We Hear Voices by Evie Green – Review 4/5 stars
The Friday Face-Off: Highly Stylized
The Future Looks Bleak – Ten 2020 Apocalyptic Books You Might Have Missed
Secret Santa by Andrew Shaffer – Review 4/5 stars

My mouth is watering just thinking about them, lol.
I enjoyed A Deadly Education and I have Betty on hold at the library. I am reading what I feel like in December so it’s all over the genres. Wishing you and your family a joyful holiday week!

Yay for the kids being home!! That will be so great. I like having wassail on Christmas, and I may just have to ask my mom to hand me some when we do a drive by waving at them on Christmas day. Ugh, what a year!
I know, what a weird year. I hope everything is back to normal next year:-(
Ooh merry Christmas to you guys! That’s awesome that your kids are home. Hope you have a fabulous holiday! 🙂
The Effort looks interesting!

I’m only about 50 pages in or so, and it’s a little on the strange side, but I think overall I’m going to enjoy it.
I’m so glad your whole family is together now! Sounds like a great break from everything. 🙂 I don’t know much about Betty, so I’m really looking forward to your review. I still need to get to A Deadly Education as well. I hope you enjoy all the books you’re planning to get to. Have a wonderful week! 🙂
