Best Sci-Fi of 2020 So Far – The “5 Star Books in 5 Words” Edition #SciFiMonth
I’ve waited all month to bring you this list, and it’s finally here: my favorite science fiction reads of 2020 so far! Keep in mind that I still have some SF reads planned between now and the end of the year, so these are my favorites that I’ve read up to this point. I’m also going to describe each one in 5 words, and although technically not all of these are five star books (some are 4.5 stars), you get the idea:-D I also just happened to read the first two books in two different series this year, and all four books made it onto this list! Clicking on the titles will take you to my reviews. Let’s get started!
High stakes * Dark web * VR game * Over-the-top * Fast-paced
Did you happen to notice how many times I described my favorites as “humorous” or “emotional”? What do you think of my list? Have you read any of these?
Both Koli novels, Stormblood and Unreconciled were amazing reads, indeed and I’ve almost finished the incredible Phlebotomist, that I acquired after reading your review of it: to call it ‘unexpected’ would indeed be the understatement of the century… 😉 Maddalena@spaceandsorcery recently posted…TOP TEN TUESDAY SciFi Month Edition: MyTop Ten Sci-Fi tv series – #SciFiMonth
Great list. I loved The Queen’s Road, it was a lot of fun. I also picked up The Phlebotomist after your review so I’m hoping I’ll enjoy that one as well. 🙂

This reminds me of those “blind date books” where you can choose one with only a few words. Love it!

Oh yes, I like that comparison:-)
So many great picks! Thanks for the reminder about Jackson Ford!
Oooh that series is so good!
Your picks are always spot on — thank you!
Thanks Robin! I’m so grateful I discovered your books:-)
Good list! I don’t have to have a humorous book to enjoy it, but I do like emotional reads.

I think it’s the combo of “humor” and “emotion” that really gets me.
Every time I see that cover of Stormblood I want to try the book.
Me too! What a coincidence! It’s like someone made that cover *just* for me.

It’s such a great cover, right? And the sequel’s cover is even better…

It sounds like you are enjoying The Phlebotomist! I’m so happy. More people need to discover it:-)
Awesome post! I loved the Koli books — I love that you use “killer trees” to describe them. Can’t wait for #3!
Me too, it can’t come fast enough:-)
Great picks and great idea!
Thanks Nadine:-)
These all look fab and a few are on my list but I’ve not read them, yet!
You can’t go wrong with any of them:-)
Thanks so much for including STORMBLOOD in this, Tammy! Honoured to be amoung such fabulous company.
How could I not? Your book is fabulous:-)
My best of sci-fi 2020 will be up next week – I think I had more good reads towards the end of the year, lol.
Ok adding all of these to my list!
This is such a cool post!! I haven’t read any of them but I have mostly of them on my TBR and mainly it is all your fault!!
Quite a few on here that I want to read and some very good ones that I have read. God Game and Phlebotomist especially.
Lynn 😀
I *still* haven’t read The Trials of Koli, but it’s on my shelf and I’m hoping to get to it before the end of the year!
The Queen’s Road is one that I have heard many praise Tammy!
