The Friday Face-Off: Words Only #SciFiMonth

The Friday Face-Off was created by Books by Proxy, where each week bloggers can showcase books with covers centered around a weekly theme. You can visit Lynn’s Books for a list of upcoming themes. Join in the fun each Friday by finding a book whose cover is based on the theme!

This week’s theme: A cover with just words.

Today’s challenge: finding science fiction books that only have words on the covers. I decided to choose a bunch of books, because I love how they all look together. And yes, there are a few of these that have images on them, but for the most part, the words dominate the design. Take a look:

Have you read any of these? Do you have a favorite?

  1. I’ve only read 2 from this batch, The Book of Koli and Ready Player One. I enjoyed both but Ready Player One would be my favorite of the two. It’s neat to see how different covers can look that are mostly just text.

  2. What a fabulous display, Tammy! And interesting just how many sci fi covers do feature the words over any form of image – I’ve read three of these – one thanks to you:))). The Book of Koli, Dark Matter and Recursion. Though there are a couple more I’m keen to tuck into – We Shall Sing a Song into the Deep and How Rory Thorne Destroyed the Multiverse. But they have to wait until I get a bit more of a handle on my crazy TBR!
