This week’s theme: A cover with just words.
Today’s challenge: finding science fiction books that only have words on the covers. I decided to choose a bunch of books, because I love how they all look together. And yes, there are a few of these that have images on them, but for the most part, the words dominate the design. Take a look:
I’ve only read 2 from this batch, The Book of Koli and Ready Player One. I enjoyed both but Ready Player One would be my favorite of the two. It’s neat to see how different covers can look that are mostly just text.
Well, that’s a good batch of title-only covers! And there is a good number of books I enjoyed there… π

I didn’t realize title-only covers were a thing. I like Life Lik3 because of the 3 for an E and the honeycomb (or cage?) background.
So many great covers!
What a fabulous display, Tammy! And interesting just how many sci fi covers do feature the words over any form of image – I’ve read three of these – one thanks to you:))). The Book of Koli, Dark Matter and Recursion. Though there are a couple more I’m keen to tuck into – We Shall Sing a Song into the Deep and How Rory Thorne Destroyed the Multiverse. But they have to wait until I get a bit more of a handle on my crazy TBR!
Ready Player One has to be my favourite, there is something striking about a cover with just words,
I’ve only read Blood World so far but would like to read several others
I like the ones with images on them even if suttle, I am just not a fan of a book cover with just words. It doesn’t pull me in.
Nice collage! I like how a lot of them have beautiful, stylized text.
Excellent selection, Tammy. I liked the cover of How Rory Thorne destroyed the mutliverse.

Oh these are all fantastic. I especially love the cover for Annihilation. π
Wow. This is great and it really shows how many covers there are with words only.
