Buffy’s Corner 11/1/20 – Looking at the Week Ahead

Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D

Happy November everyone! Only two days until Election Day, so it’s going to be a very tense week, I think. If you are in the U.S. and you haven’t voted yet, PLEASE VOTE. It’s so important. Every time but especially this year. I’m terrified, actually, since you-know-who is such a crazy person, you never know what he’s going to try.

I still have plans to show you my newly reorganized library, but I’ve been lazy and haven’t taken photos yet. In the meantime, here are two photos from hubby with water reflections that I thought were so pretty:

Upcoming reviews:

It still looks like October around here, lol! I’m squeezing in two more scary books this week, and then I’ll be diving into my SciFiMonth/November pile (see below). The Remaking by Clay McLeod Chapman was really a fun, spooky story! My review will be up tomorrow. And I’ve just started Voodoo Heart by John Everson and wow, I’m loving it! It’s a New Orleans noir mystery that (possibly) involves voodoo, and I hope to spend a lot of today reading it. I’m planning on a review Thursday, so do check back!

Upcoming reads:

My next book will be How the Multiverse Got Its Revenge. I’m late on this one, since it actually came out last week. But hey, it’s perfect timing for #SciFiMonth! Next will be The Children of Red Peak by Craig DiLouie, which comes out in about two weeks. Then I’d like to read a shorter novella and maybe squeeze one more book in this week, and The Factory Witches of Lowell by C.S. Malerich will be perfect. We’ll see how that goes!

The usual memes…

Every Tuesday this month, I’ll be featuring a special #SciFiMonth list, so check in this Tuesday to see 14 Adult Science Fiction Books to Read in 2021. On Wednesday, I’m supersizing my Future Fiction with four new science fiction books! (Seriously, if you’re looking for SF to read in 2021, I’ve found a lot and I’m cramming it all in this month!) The Friday Face-Off is Planets. And Saturday will be my first Self Published SciFi Saturday post, so stop by to see some awesome self-published authors and their books!

In case you missed…

  1. I love that first photo from your husband. It not only has beautiful reflections but it’s also a great behavioral shot. You can’t quite let Halloween go yet, eh? 🙂

  2. I think that first picture may be my favorite photo your husband has taken so far. I love animal subjects, and the reflection in that one makes even the bird’s awkward pose look graceful 🙂

  3. I am not even in America and I am scared for what may happen this week, you know who seems so unhinged with his actions. I hope the result goes well , fingers crossed.

It’s going to be interesting to say the least! I’ll be glad when the election and the aftermath are over…

  4. Those photos of your husband’s are both so fabulous – such wonderful technical skill to get those results! I was very tempted by How the Multivere Got Its Revenge – but I had already crammed in far too many books for October! I still haven’t got through my October arcs, either! Though, like you, I’m so looking forward to Sci Fi Month:)). I hope the coming election goes well and smoothly – and with the right result! Have a great week, Tammy.

Thank you, we’re all worried about the election, I think no matter which way it goes, people are going to be angry, unfortunately:-( Thanks for the kind words about my husband’s photos, and I hope you have a great week too!

  5. That first photo is amazing – it’s almost like an emblem and I love the colour of the water of the second cover
My month has been totally messed up. We had family with us and so blogging and reading just all completely stopped and I’m now so far behind that I feel dizzy even thinking about it; Oh well.
    Lynn 😀
