After having a blast with a color Top Ten Tuesday prompt a couple of weeks ago (Books with the word “Black” in the Title), I decided to see what other common words popped up in the books I’ve either read or talked about on this blog, and I’m sure you’re not surprised that the words “king” and “queen” are quite common in fantasy titles. Also “kingdom” so you’ll see some of those too. This is just a for fun post because I love making photo galleries, and we all need a little more fun! I already have some other common title words in mind for future posts. Anyway, feast your eyes on all these Kings and Queens!
Hmm . . . how about The Lager Queen of Minnesota by Stradal? You gotta like beer to like the book, though.

Love it, now I need to go look that book up:-)
Wow, so many! 😀 The only ones I can think of right now is The Iron King by Julie Kagawa, The Woman Who Would Be King by Kara Cooney & In Defense of the Queen by Michelle Diener. All favorites of mine.

I’m actually surprised I didn’t list The Iron King, I feel like I’ve talked about that book before.
So many kings and queens! Fantasy certainly has a surplus of them The Hod King by Josiah Bancroft too! Oh and Traitor Queen by Trudi Canavan, Queen of Sorcery by David Eddings and Queen of the Darkness by Anne Bishop! Oh oh! And Queen of Fire by Anthony Ryan!

Oh wow, you came up with a bunch more:-)
These all look soooo pretty together! Would you mind very much if I pinched your idea and ran my own list? I’d namecheck you, of course!!
Of course! The more the merrier. You don’t even have to mention me if you don’t want to:-) I know I barely scratched the surface!
Such fun! Off the top of my head, I know I also have A Clash of Kings and Mrs. Queen Takes the Train on my shelves… probably more if I went and looked. 🙂
Oh there are definitely more. If I had pulled from my Goodreads “To read” list this would have been a very long post, lol.
There is loads! It was the same with colours the other week, I never appreciated how many there is!

I know, you don’t realize until you start looking around:-)
I love these gallery posts, always great checking out covers, and themes are fun. From my list of already read books I’ll add The Return of the King by Tolkien and The Honor of the Queen by David Weber.
Both good ones, Todd. There are so many when you stop to think about it:-)
Wow, that’s a lot of books. I think posts like this are great because I always enjoy seeing the covers!
Me too, I’m a visual person and looking at gorgeous covers is one of my favorite pastimes, lol.
Lots of royalty in books. 🙂
Especially fantasy:-)
Fun post! My favorites from your list are Hollow Kingdom and The Wicked King.
I love both of those books so much:-)
I love this, I may have to steal the idea 🙂 And maybe also do princes and princesses and make it a royal family affair, lol.
Definitely! It was fun, and I wish I had thought of using princes and princesses too:-)
I might steal this idea too. So good seeing all these together. You could have had Prince and Princess for a full house.
Lynn 😀
Yeah totally steal this idea! I’m going to do it again with different words. And yes, I should have thought of princes and princesses!
Oh this is a fun challenge, there are so many books that fit this criteria, especially in Fantasy! 🙂
I can’t wait to read Kingdom of the Wicked. It’s going to be great.
I have to admit- the Libba Bray Beauty Queens book is sort of calling to me.
Nice tweak! OK here I go: The serpent King by Jeff Zentner, The Queen of Nothing and The Wicked King by Holly Black, King’s Men in the Foxhole Court series, Queen of Ash by Laura Sebastian….
Haha this is such a fun post! The cover for The Kingdom looks super interesting!
King and Queen are sooo common in fantasy titles, but I love your selection here! I’m actually reading A Ruin of Kings right now, and I saw that right at the top, so perfect! (Also, yay for dragon rep haha). Oh my gosh, this reminds me that I totally need to pick up Hollow Kingdom, too! Completely slipped my mind.
