Waiting on Wednesday is the brainchild of Breaking the Spine, although Jill isn’t hosting this meme anymore. In any case, I will continue to post Waiting on Wednesdays, simply because it’s one of my favorite posts to do each week:-D
I don’t usually feature novellas for my Waiting on Wednesday picks, but I couldn’t resist this week! After finding out that Tade Thompson has a Tor.com novella coming out this October, there really wasn’t any other choice than to share this with you:
Every time she bleeds a murderer is born. Experience the horror of Tade Thompson’s The Murders of Molly Southbourne.
The rule is simple: don’t bleed.
For as long as Molly Southbourne can remember, she’s been watching herself die. Whenever she bleeds, another molly is born, identical to her in every way and intent on her destruction.
Molly knows every way to kill herself, but she also knows that as long as she survives she’ll be hunted. No matter how well she follows the rules, eventually the mollys will find her. Can Molly find a way to stop the tide of blood, or will she meet her end at the hand of a girl who looks just like her?
The Murders of Molly Southbourne by Tade Thompson releases in October 2017 from Tor.com. I loved my first Tade Thompson book, Rosewater, and I’m so curious about his latest. The story sounds a little strange, but I think that’s part of the fun of a Thompson story.

I was just sent an ARC of this one at the end of last week. The cover immediately got my attention and I’m looking forward to branching out and trying something by this author.
I haven’t read anything by Thompson, but I’ve loved every Tor.com novella I’ve read thus far so I’m game to give this one a shot!
Well, that’s some chilling premise, indeed! I will have to keep an eye out for this one…
Thanks for sharing š
Oh wow. This is too twisted. I want it!
When Tor.com sent the eARC, the first person I thought of was you because I remember how much you love his work! This sounds good, hope you enjoy it š
Ahhh, that cover. *runs away* I wouldn’t be able to read this book without getting freaked out by the cover. “Don’t bleed” sounds like a good idea! O_O I hope you enjoy this book when you get the chance to read it!
Have a wonderful week, Tammy. =)
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
I found this on Twitter last week and boy does this sound crazy. High likelihood I’ll be reading it too. š
I can’t wait for this one, so far I enjoyed everything I read by this author! š
I’m excited for this one too, since I also loved Rosewater!
Great choice – the concept sounds absolutely fascinating.
