Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine, and is a fun way to share upcoming books that you’re excited about with other bloggers and readers.
I just requested a review copy of this book, and I believe this cover was just revealed as well:
Two sisters, Matty and Elena Bela, who live in the megacity of Seacouver, are orphaned when they are teenagers. Elena goes to work on one of the re-wilding crews, restoring lands once managed by humans but now being returned to more wild places. Matty stays in Seacouver where her every need is provided for—but somehow that is not enough.
After a few years have passed, she decides to find her sister, but the outside world is not what she expects—it is rougher, and the bots dedicated to restoring the wilderness seem to have a more sinister purpose. As Matty struggles to find her sister and evade the bots, she uncovers a group of people with an agenda that may endanger Seacouver.
Matty must find her sister—and they must learn to trust each other—in order to discover the truth hidden behind the surface, and to save Seacouver.
Wilders (Project Earth #1) by Brenda Cooper. Releases in June 2017 from Pyr Books. I have not read Brenda Cooper before, but this sounds like a perfect place to start! I’m so excited to read this.
Sisters and sci-fi! That cover is so interesting: is she in a field of flowers?
It does look like a field of flowers, right? I’m getting a “Wizard of Oz” vibe with this cover!
Tammy, I read my first Brenda Cooper book this year, Edge of Dark, and it was one of the best books I read in 2016. Thanks for sharing about Wilders!
That’s great to hear! I know lots of bloggers who love that series, I’ll have to make sure I read it next year:-)
Wow, this book has a futuristic vibe to it. I’ve not read anything by Brenda Cooper either. I hope you enjoy this book when you get the chance to read it, Tammy!
Have a wonderful week. =)
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
I’ve heard other bloggers talk about Brenda Cooper’s other books and I just know I’m going to love her:-) Thanks for visiting, Alyssa!
Hope you get an ARC of this one. Sounds pretty interesting.
That cover is awesome! Great pick! You can check out my WOW in the link below!
How did I know that re-wilding had to be more sinister than it seemed? Hahaha. This sounds like a really fun book, thanks for putting it on my radar Tammy!
This sounds VERY good and I love that there isn’t some major focus (at least in the summary) on some romance that changes the world. lol Seacouver is a bit of a silly city name but something I could definitely get over.
I love the look of this one, and just saw it yesterday for the first time on a TTT post. Love that futuristic looking cover, and the premise is very intriguing. Definitely adding it!
Supper stoked for this one too !!! And it comes one when I’ll be home for break so I’ll be able to read it
I’ve read three books by Cooper now and they were all great, and I honestly don’t know why she’s not getting more attention! Looking forward to this one as well
This is on my list, too. I’ve heard so many good things about her other series, I figure this is a good chance to check her out.
