I’m giddy with anticipation! It’s finally November, where we can wallow in all the wonderful goodness that is Sci-Fi Month! Big thanks to Rinn @ Rinn Reads and Lisa from Over the Effing Rainbow for hosting once again. Sci-Fi Month is a great opportunity to celebrate all things science fiction, including books, movies, TV, video games, and anything else you want to geek out over. It’s never too late to join the fun, so click on either of the links above to find out how!
As for me, I have some tentative plans, but new things might pop up during the month, so check back often to see what’s going on. I have plenty of SF books on tap, and lots more. Here’s a peek at what to expect on the blog this month:
Books, books, books:
A couple of these are books that came out months ago, but I just couldn’t get to them. But that’s OK because they are perfect for Sci-Fi Month! This is a lot of books for me, since I’m just not a fast reader, and I also have some non-SF books lined up to read this month. But I will try to get to as many of them as I can.
Sci-Fi Waiting on Wednesdays:
Last year I featured a sci-fi book for each of my Waiting on Wednesdays, and I had so much fun that I’m continuing the tradition this year. Check back each Wednesday to see what “can’t wait” science fiction books I’ve picked!
Author interviews, giveaways & more:
So far I have an interview with Rosewater author Tade Thompson planned for later in the month, and I’ll be reviewing his book as well. Stay tuned for some Sci-Fi top ten lists, as well as a couple of giveaways. I’m digging through my piles of ARCs and I’ve found some that need a home, so look for a giveaway on the 18th.
There will no doubt be some other posts that pop up during the month, since I often like to do things on the fly. If you’re on Twitter, follow the #RRSciFiMonth hashtag to see all the blogs that are participating! It’s going to be a fun month, so stick around:-D
Oooh, I’d love to hear more about Good Morning, Midnight. I saw that at Barnes & Noble recently but have been waiting to read more reviews for it before I get it.

I’ve read lots of mixed reviews, and most reviewers seem to feel it’s too slow, no action. I think as long as I know that going in, I will really enjoy this. We’ll see!
Ooooo! A whole month for people like us!
Yes! Time to celebrate your love for Sci-Fi!
November might be a month of rains, fog and generally miserable weather, but this event can truly make us all forget the dreariness and enjoy the genre’s leaps of imagination 🙂
The most intriguing book on your list is “The Burning Light”: I loved B. Beaulieu’s “Twelve Kings in Sharakhai” and I look forward to learning how he fares in science fiction!

I have Time Siege too, and I hope to get to it this month 😀
I swear SF covers have changed so much over the years. Look at those classic SF covers from decades ago, and look at those ones you’ve shared. I love the simplicity of them all 🙂
I read Time Siege, can’t wait to see what you think. For some reason I don’t think I’ve seen alot of reviews or discussion of Time salvager/ Time Siege in the blogosphere. Gemina of course, and the cover of Good Morning, Midnight looks really nice. And I agree with Rinn- covers sure have changed!
I always love SciFi Top Ten lists too. Looking forward to your posts!

Science fiction month! I need to get with it.
I’m hoping to finally get to Time Siege this month as well! So glad to see Sci-Fi Month bigger than ever this year, looking forward to catch all your sci-fi coverage 🙂

Gemina’s one of the books I hope to get to as well – along with Time Salvager!
I haven’t read any of these books. Would love to read what you thought of them. Looking forward to reading your posts this month.
Illuminae is on my TBR for this month, mostly because everyone has been raving about Gemina! Any duology that gets that much praise from trusted blogger friends is one that I need to be reading, regardless of hype.

Are you planning to read A Closed and Common Orbit? Although I think that was technically released in Oct, but it’s still a new book.
I’m still on the first part, but looking forward to reading that one too.

Sci-Fi Month??? I like the sound of this. I’m especially interested in seeing what you think of Good Morning, Midnight and Everything Belongs to the Future. Happy reading!

I am participating for the first time this year, so I am not doing anything extra special. I do already have some plans for next year.
