#wyrdandwonder Wrap Up & Giveaway

Well, I have to admit I didn’t participate in Wyrd & Wonder as much as I wanted to, but I am glad I joined in! Big thanks to all the hosts—imyril, Lisa and Jorie—for keeping things moving. I’m hoping next year I can plan better and read even more fantasy books. I only managed to read two (for some reason I had mostly science fiction review books this month), but they were both REALLY good. I also posted two Top Ten lists, focusing on upcoming fantasy books that I’m excited to read.

And I know I’ve had a LOT of giveaways this month, way more than usual (it just worked out that way), but as promised, I have one more. I’m offering one international winner a copy of any fantasy book shown below. Obviously if you choose one from my Top Ten lists, it will be a preorder. Here are the fantasy books I talked about in May:

Fantasy reviews:

The Witch’s Kind by Louisa Morgan was so good, it will definitely make my “Best of 2019” list at the end of the year. Click here if you missed my review.

Middlegame by Seanan McGuire was a bold and ambitious story about the dark side of alchemy, and it reminded me once again of how much I love McGuire/Grant stories. Click here to read my review!

Lists!

Check out Ten Fantasy Sequels I Can’t Wait to Read! These are my top ten sequels coming out this year (and into 2020 even) and let me tell you, the wait is torture for some of these!

And how about Eighteen Fantasy Debuts I Can’t Wait to Read… We are so lucky to have so many amazing sounding debuts coming out:-D

Lots to choose from! Are you ready to enter? Simply fill out the Rafflecopter form below. Winner will be randomly selected on Saturday June 8th. Giveaway is open to anyone, as long as The Book Depository ships to your country. Good luck!

Thank you so much for the amazing giveaway – I think I’d pick Come Tumbling Down or Darkdawn 🙂

  2. I would chose Come Tumbling Down because you know how much I love that series. So many great books here. (and because I’m on the road for work today, I’ll now be singing the John Cougar Mellencamp song all day as I drive)!

  3. Ooo… The Witches Kind looks awesome, Tammy! I also read A Secret History of Witches, which I quite enjoyed – but this one sounds stunning:)). And yes… there are so many marvellous books coming out in the latter half of this year.

The Witch’s Kind was much better, in my opinion, than A Secret History of Witches, that’s a safe choice!

Looking at these amazing books, I’m like a kid in a candy store. I don’t think I could choose just one right now. I’m going to add them to my TBR. Thanks!

I’m going to plan better next year, hopefully. I wanted to read more fantasy, but for some reason it didn’t quite work out:-)

  5. Carl

What a great list of upcoming books. I can’t even pick one favorite out of all of them right now. Please defer my choice till I get lucky enough to win. Thanks so much for the generous giveaway!

  6. So many amazing books to choose from! I’m eyeing Serpent & Dove, but that’s months away and I’m too impatient, so probably Shatter The Skey

  7. Aww thanks for hosting a giveaway Tammy! I would probably go with House of Salt and Sorrows! And I didn’t get to participate as much as I wanted either, but I still had fun! I think I’m gonna try to plan some posts a month ahead next year. 😛 And is Blood Heir back to being published? I thought Amelie cancelled it due to backlash!

    • Tammy

Yes! She decided to publish it after all. I think some friends probably convinced her to. I’m very happy for her:-)

Oh my gosh!! Thank you so much for this opportunity, you have ado many great books in this list, love them all, it was hard but I think i’ll go with DarkDawn by Jay Kristoff :):):)

There were so many here that sound good to me, I think I would choose Serpent and Dove, it seems like it would be interesting with a witch forced to marry someone from the church that condemns her.

  10. Even if you didn’t read as much fantasy as you hoped, it’s still brilliant that you enjoyed the fantasy you did read! I need to get my hands on Middlegame – I keep seeing such good reviews – and I really want to try Louisa Morgan’s fiction, too. I love books about witches.

I’m so excited for Shorefall, The Queen of Nothing and Dragon Unleashed, too! I still need to read Phoenix Unbound, but the synopsis of Dragon Unleashed sounds like all the fantasy stories I loved when I was younger and still love now. Thanks so much for hosting this giveaway! I think I’d have to go with Serpent & Dove – witches vs. the church is right up my street.
