This week’s theme: A heart. For Valentine’s Day past.
I have a feeling my choice this week is going to be popular. I’ve picked a book with the word “heart” in the title, and it turns out there are plenty of cover choices with actual hearts on them! I loved Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill, and because of its popularity, there were plenty of covers to choose from. Take a look:
William Morrow (US) edition 2007 | Polish edition (year?)
Gollancz (UK) edition 2007 | Indonesian edition 2011
German edition 2008 | Orion (UK) edition 2017
Finnish edition 2008 | Bulgarian edition 2007
I love that all of these have hearts on the cover, except for the U.S. edition! I really love the Polish edition, I think the artwork is spectacular, but for some reason my eye keeps going back to the Gollancz edition, so I’m calling it as my favorite:
I like the Gollancz edition because of the two doggies – go figure. I’ve also seen pictures of the inside on line and know that it’s just as pretty inside. I really want to do a reread of this one because I remember reading it ages ago before I even knew who Joe Hill was. I thought it was just a cool library find back then.
Now I want to see the Gollancz edition so I can see the inside!
I’m intrigued by the artwork on many of these, Tammy, but I think your favorite is my fave too. It definitely catches the eye and seems to fit with the book.
Yes, I love how interesting it is and how all the objects grab your attention:-)
I teally like the Polish, but my favourite is the Indonesian. Has a certain something to it.
I love the Indonesian cover as well:-)
The Polish one is really cool! 🙂
Isn’t it? And it’s so different from all the others.
As soon as I saw the UK Gollancz edition I knew it would probably be my favorite, haha. I just love the entire design! The Finnish and Orion UK ones are really nice, too.
The Finnish cover is deceptively creepy!
Oh man, I also love this book but I hadn’t seen any of these others before! Going to have to agree with you though, the UK cover is my favorite and I love how it ties into the actual story.

Yep, it’s the most interesting to look at as well:-)
The Polish edition is delightfully creepy!!! 🙂
Still, your choice is intriguing: two wolves (werewolves?) in the lower corners, a razor blade in the upper left and a creepy-looking face in the upper right. Not to mention the moths… But from a King I would not expect anything less! 😀

I do like how that cover really tells a story, I’d love to own that edition:-)
Oooh I like the Orion (UK) and Indonesian editions! But I also like your favorite! Its hard to choose!

It is hard, I tried to pick covers that I really liked. There were some BAD ones that I didn’t put in this post, lol.
This one is a great choice, Tammy:). Despite the rather fuzzy defintion, my favourite is the Orion version. I just like the fact that the heart still manages to look like a box.
I do like the Orion cover as well, it’s simple but effective:-)
I think I like the simplicity of the William Morrow edition, but I like the German one as well!

The German cover is really striking!
Those are some awesome covers for this book! I like yours, but I’m also kind of partial to the one right beside it as well.
Yes, I love that one too! It’s got a graphic novel vibe that’s really cool.
Wow. So many great covers. I own the first one but I love the cover you chose! It “tells” so much.

I own the first one too, which I do like, but the others are pretty cool too.
I almost went with this book and the two that stood out for me were the Gollancz and indonesian.
Great choice.
Lynn 😀

Nice pick for this one! I really love the cover you went with, never seen that one before!
The Gollancz is my favorite too. I actually like all of them except for the U.S. cover. That one just seems a little blah in comparison to the others.
