Welcome to Sci Fi Month! I won’t be exclusively reading science fiction this month, but I do have a few that fit the genre and I’m very excited to read them. I also have a fair amount of horror to read, no surprise there:-)

And of course I have some sci-fi focused lists planned, including 27 Science Fiction Books to Read in 2027 and more. Stay tuned!

Once again, SciFi Month is hosted by these lovely bloggers: imyril @ There’s Always Room For One More; Annemieke @ A Dance With Books, Lisa @ Dear Geek Place & Mayri @ bookforager. You can check out their links for more information on the events this month!

Books on my November TBR:

I’m starting off with three sci-fi (or sci-fi adjacent) books, and first up is Monsters of Ohio by John Scalzi. It may look like horror based on the cover, but it’s giving me Invasion of the Body Snatchers vibes. My review will be up tomorrow!

Dead New World by Lin Darrow. “Technology has raised the dead” is the first phrase in the story blurb, and it’s definitely caught my attention! This sounds like a lot of fun.

The Fist of Memory by Wole Talabi just came out last week, and I decided to push it a bit so I could read it during Sci Fi Month. This is a first contact story and I’m quite excited to read it!

Now on to some other genres, starting with my most anticipated book of the month, Pinfeathers by Christina Henry. This is a mother/child horror story, and I’m sure Henry will do an awesome job with it.

The Yule Day Slaughter by Craig DiLouie is the second book in his police procedural/slasher horror series (Slasher Season), and this time it looks like the story takes place during the winter holidays.

I’m so excited for another Stephanie Wrobel book! Revenge Plot sounds really good, and it revolves around publishing, an element I always love to read about.

Milkteeth by Caitlin Starling is a vampire story I’ve been excited to read for months.

Cold Empty Rooms by Andy Marino. I see lots of mixed reviews on Goodreads for this, but what jumped out at me was a rave review from Keith Rosson, whose Crone I just read and absolutely loved. So thanks, Keith, you’ve made me excited to read this!

And finally, a lighter read I’m really looking forward to, Love, Witches and Wahala by Christine Cowan. This is the start to a series, I hope I enjoy it!

  1. Dead New World sounds so creative! I’m not completely sure it’s up my alley, but at the same time I’m intrigued, so I placed a late request both on NG and EW.
