Welcome to Future Fiction, my reimagining of the Waiting on Wednesday meme! There are so many amazing new books coming out, that I can no longer pick just one. My goal with Future Fiction is to share at least three new books each week, a combination of recent cover reveals and books that I’ve recently added to my TBR pile. I’m still going to be linking up with Wishful Endings/Can’t Wait Wednesday, and I also want to give a shout out to Jill at Breaking the Spine for starting the original Waiting on Wednesday meme. I hope you’ll find some new books to add to your TBR piles, and as always, I look forward to hearing what YOU’RE looking forward to:-D
I’m branching out today, with two fantasies! (and one horror). All three books get “A” cover ratings, take a look:

A campus novel with teeth: a dark love story between a graduate student at a prestigious but failing university, and the crisis manager hired by the college–who happens to be a centuries-old vampire set on draining the institution of its lifeblood.
Laura Wyck is struggling through an English PhD when her university announces drastic plans for budget cuts. Everything she loves is imperiled: the library may be sold to the highest bidder and the English department could lose half its staff. Worst of all, when Laura and her fellow graduate students take a stand, she’s confronted by the architect of the restructuring: a rakish consultant named Eli, as morally compromised as they are appallingly attractive.
Eli sets Laura’s teeth on edge—but they’re smooth, seductive, even irresistible. It’s hard to remember her principles when they take her to the opera, to the dimly lit bars and luxurious hotels she’s always dreamed of. Meanwhile, budget cuts take a backseat to bloodier threats on campus: one of Laura’s peers goes missing, and an advisor is fatally attacked. Even as the suspicious deaths rack up, Laura is swept into a love affair that promises the beauty of an easier, better life.
As the university stands on the brink of collapse, Laura is forced to confront the truth—and the cost—of her romance with Eli. Now she must choose: eternal life and infinite devotion, or the future of the place she loves best. Avery Curran’s thrilling, insightful sophomore novel captures the magic of falling desperately in love while interrogating the question of what truly makes someone human.
Mortal Passions by Avery Curran. Releases in May 2027 from Doubleday. Dark academia with vampires? I love the sound of this! Cover rating: A

Every book is a door. Every binding a journey . . .
Ever since she was attacked in a dark alley two years ago, Olive has been living in self-seclusion at her family’s home and book-binding business in Seattle. Lonely but unable to venture outside without an umbrella to protect her, Olive has only her father and her work building bookshelf dioramas for company. That is, until Olive’s father disappears in search of her estranged twin brother, and a handsome gentleman with old-fashioned clothes and a British accent whirls into her workshop and introduces himself as Jack Vale, Master Binder of the Bindery Guild, protector of the many worlds.
Jack opens Olive’s eyes to the magic she’s been inches away from her whole life: they are living in a multi-verse, connected through book leaves ― one only needs the right leaf and key and they may travel to any city or world they desire. While it might be 1914 everywhere, each world is on its own trajectory, influenced by the movements and conflicts of its inhabitants. Due to a revolution centuries before her birth, Olive has grown up without inequality or oppression, but when she discovers her brother has been spotted collaborating with the Serbian insurgent group, the Black Hand, in another timeline, it is up to her to keep the violence from spiraling out of control.
With Jack’s help, Olive must rise above her fears, take control of her inheritance, and get to the bottom of her twin’s betrayal before the villainous Author brings the death and destruction of total war to yet another world.
Jumping between futuristic Seattle, Edwardian England, and the Austrian Empire, THE BINDERY GUILD is an utterly original, perfectly paced historical speculative debut.
The Bindery Guild by Carrie Kwiatkowski. Releases in May 2027 from Wildthorn. I love any book that has magical books as a central element, and I love the sound of this! I’m also intrigued by the historical/alternate history idea. Can’t wait! Cover rating: A

Welcome to the Deepdown. An impossible subterranean labyrinth, where everything is deadly and the world is ever-changing. The only thing that stays the same is that no one ever escapes.
Until now.
Brindle, a sly, unscrupulous half-devil, may just be the first. He’s been charged with a task from the Deepdown itself―transport a mysterious egg up twelve hellish floors and his freedom will be granted.
If he hopes to survive the death traps, monsters, and unspeakable horrors that await, Brindle must recruit the worst companions possible―a once-bloodthirsty giantess who’s sworn off violence forever, a kind-hearted tinker being eaten alive by shadow, and two enigmatic sisters, one of whom hates his guts, the other imprisoned within a sword.
That would all be trouble enough, but in the Deepdown, things can always get worse. The egg unexpectedly hatches, revealing the most horrifying thing imaginable―a human baby.
This group of misfits, forced to play the dungeon’s game over and over, finally have their best shot at freedom. But they’ll have to decide what―or who―they’re willing to sacrifice to get it.
Four Bastards and a Baby by Travis Baldree. Releases in August 2027 from Tor Books. This sounds a lot like LitRPG, which isn’t my favorite genre. But despite that, the story description has me hooked! Plus it’s Travis Baldree, and the cover is fantastic:-) Cover rating: A

The new Baldree book sounds amazing I can’t wait till the Summer for it!!
