My goal with Future Fiction is to share at least three new books each week, a combination of recent cover reveals and books that I’ve recently added to my TBR pile. I’m still going to be linking up with Wishful Endings/Can’t Wait Wednesday, and I also want to give a shout out to Jill at Breaking the Spine for starting the original Waiting on Wednesday meme. I feel like this title might be a little too much on the nose, since Feeney is known for her twists, but of course I want to read it. To be honest, I am still hoping for another book as good as Daisy Darker, but I’m not sure she’ll ever be able to top it.

Envoy by Yume Kitasei. Releases in July 2027 from Tor Books. I’m a huge fan of the author, particularly her debut The Deep Sky, and I’m thrilled to see she has another book coming out next year!

The Isle of Lonely Monsters by Julie Leong. Releases in January 2027 from Ace Books. OK this sounds pretty adorable! Plus what a beautiful cover. This will be a must read for sure:-)

It really does, and based on the author’s other books, I have a feeling I’ll love it.
I do like the synopsis of Twist. This one line in it is pretty good: “But everyone knows that marriage can be murder.” I’m definitely intrigued!

Envoy sounds perfect for me — I’ve been very drawn to space stories lately! I’ve never tried anything by Alice Feeny, but Twist does sound intriguing. Great choices!
Me too! I think you will like Yume Kitasei. Her books are all really exciting but also have great character development.
The new Julie Leong book looks good. Looks like it might be higher stakes than her cozy fantasies, so I might try it.

Alice Feeney books are a lot of fun, especially if you want to take a break from fantasy!
If by “take a break from fantasy” you mean space opera or cyberpunk, then of course
I also loved The Deep Sky, so I’m very interested in Envoy – and while I’ve never read Julie Leong, she sounds like an author I need to get to know. As ever, wonderful books to whet the appetite for the future:)).

I still haven’t read the copy of the Stardust Grail my friend got me for Christmas/my birthday last year…? but I *adore* her writing and the premise of her books. I’ve also added the Isle of Lonely Monsters onto my list as it sounds really fun + the cover is beautiful

Ooh very intrigued by Envoy. I keep saying I want to try more sci fi out and the fact that it sounds like a sci fi mystery has me super curious. I like the sound of Twist too, although I somehow still haven’t managed to try anything by the author.
Yume Kitasei is such a good writer, and Envoy is definitely on my list to read next year:-)
