For today’s Summer of Horror cover love, I’ve found books with dripping blood on the cover (as opposed to splattered blood, which is a whole other category, lol). OK the first book is more of a “pool of blood,” but I love the cover so I decided to include it anyway. This is a mix of books I’ve read and books on my TBR. Let me know what you’d add to the list!

These are all so great for horror books! My favorites out of these are Milk Teeth, The Ravaged Night and Dracula (of course!)
The Milkteeth cover seems so ominous…
Great picks! I’m looking forward to trying Nothing Tastes As Good.
It was crazy, in a good way:-)
Amazing! What a collage of bloody covers! I’ve read a few of these… and can’t wait to read the new Rachel Harrison!
Me too, I want to try to squeeze it in early:-)
I love this and that pool of blood on the first one has to drip somewhere, right? I can’t wait to read the Rachel Harrison book!
Me too! I might try to read it this month.
Love the subtle drips in the Dracula cover <3
Me too, it’s actually quite an elegant cover:-)
Well what came to mind for me is some Christina Henry books and also the Cherie Priest ones about Lizzie Borden which I read. Both are kind of horror-ish.
I don’t think I even check Christina Henry’s books, but I’m sure there’s blood somewhere on them!
Head Will Roll has my favourite cover among these (also the only book I’ve read!), but This Delicious Death is a close second.
I think This Delicious Death is so clever (the cooler makes sense when you read the story)
So many bleeding covers! Who knew? ;D
Honestly, I thought it would be easier to find, I really had to search!
These are a great selection of book covers. I much prefer your Milkteeth cover than the one we’ve got here. I also cant believe that I still havent read The Southern Book Club one. I looked back at my cover posts from last year and was surprised by how few blood drops I found on them (especially when it came to vampires). There’s House Of Hunger though and also the Barnes & Noble version of Dracula. The blood drops on that are black rather than red but I still really like the design.
Well these are certainly perfect for today’s selection!
Dripping blood is such a classic horror motif on a cover. Nothing Taste as Good is probably my favorite of this bunch. Immediately gives me a bad taste in my mouth.
ahahah what stage of loving horror is it when you have categories of different blood patterns on covers ? My favourite ones have to be Milk Teeth, Dracula, and Kiss Slay Replay. I read and loved a Rachel Harrison last year and would like to read more.
Great selection. I can’t wait to read Kiss, Slay Replay. Also, is it just me but the covers with food – like the donuts with blood oozing make me feel a bit nauseous.
