I’m linking up with Top Ten Tuesday, which was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Check out upcoming Top Ten themes on Jana’s blog.
Today’s prompt is a fun one: highlight ten (or more!) of your favorite authors and your favorite book by each one. So I may have gone a little extra because I’m sharing 15 of my favorite authors and two favorites from each. This is by no means a complete list, as I had to eliminate a bunch of authors, otherwise things would have spiraled out of control, lol. I’m listing these alphabetically by author’s last name, and I’ll link my reviews as well:

I love this topic and really should have joined in. I’ll have to remember it for next time they have a freebie week on TTT. T. Kingfisher definitely has potential to become a favourite author for me after Wolf Worm, as does Stephen Graham Jones thanks to The Buffalo Hunter Hunter. A lot of the others I still need to try something by, M R Carey, Gray Hendrix and Christina Henry in particular.
You can do this topic any time, it was a lot of fun.
I live that you chose two books each time Tammy! Not easy to stop at one
I could not pick just one!
I’m currently listening to the audiobook of Angel Down!
Oh cool. I’m very curious to hear what you think!
Alas no.
I did a post with favorite books by favorite authors back in December 2024, and things haven’t changed much: https://wordsandpeace.com/2024/12/20/book-tag-author-firsts-lasts-and-favourites/
I don’t think my list would change much either.
The Only Good Indians has been on a few different lists this week!
It’s pretty amazing!
What a great list! If I’d thought about it more, I absolutely would have included Rachel HArrison on my mine too, and likely a few of your others (Grady Hendrix, Craig DiLouie, and T. Kingfisher for sure!). Wow, I really can’t believe I forgot to include Harrison and Kingfisher, but that’s what I get for rushing!! Oh and I love the Koli books (and more) by M R Carey!
I forgot some important authors too, lol. Oh well:-)
You made this topic look easy!
Thanks for sharing your #TTT
It was easy, except for the part where I had to cut down my author list…
I love T. Kingfisher and Emily St. John Mandel. I haven’t read most of the others, but I’d like to read more by MR Carey (I loved The Girl With All the Gifts).
MR Carey has written so many good books!
Well I’ve read some Christina Henry and Chuck Wendig and plan to read some MR Carey but my favorites tend more to Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Kelley Afmstrong, William Kent Krueger, Allen Eskens, Allison Brenna, Jack Campbell, Benedict Jacka, Naomi Novik, and more. I could probably almost fill the whole top 10 with Ilona Andrews series if that was the structure.
I recognize all those authors from your blog:-)
Have you read the Daniel Kraus book which won the Pulitzer, Angel Down? I have it queued up on my phone to listen to the audiobook of it on our trip. I also love Emily St. John Mandel. I think about Station Eleven every single day. I’m afraid it might become true.
Thanks for visiting my blog. This is my first time on your site, I think.
Yes! I loved Angel Down. If you loved Station Eleven, you should definitely read The Glass Hotel and Sea of Tranquility.
Oh! I’m surprised I didn’t think of Kingfisher… though, I don’t know what I’d pick, to be honest. So many good books.
Right? She’s consistently good:-)
I’ve heard of most of these authors, but haven’t read any of their works.
Here’s my TTT for the week: https://readbakecreate.com/favorite-covers-for-murder-on-the-orient-express/
I recommend all of them!
So many great authors and titles here! I have Station Eleven on my list as well and really enjoyed Sea of Tranquility.
Station Eleven is amazing!
So many on this list who I still need to try, like Kraus. Why haven’t I read his books yet? Ugh!
LOL because there are just too many books and authors…
I adored The Only Good Indians and of course Lost Boy. The Heiress was a complete miss for me which you know but I did really like The Storm. Great topic and choices!
I’m so excited for The Only Good Indians sequel!
I stumbled onto Ronald Malfi by accident and really enjoy his stuff.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
He’s written some amazing books:-)
So many good ones! T. Kingfisher is one of my favorites too – I love the two you picked, but I think I’d also add The Hollow Places. 🙂
I loved The Hollow Places too!
Great list, I’ve heard of several of these books but haven’t read any. My go to is always Stephen King but if I’m not in the mood for that I love Kristin Hannah.
I haven’t read Stephen King in years so I didn’t even consider him for this post. But he’s definitely a favorite author:-)
I shall have to do this topic when a freebie next comes up. I love your list and it really highlights how much our reading crosses paths. I think there are only three authors on here that I haven’t read so maybe I need to prioritise them. I’m particularly interested in Daniel Kraus.
Lynn 😀
Definitely do this, it was so much fun.
I am currently reading I Was a Teenage Slasher and am loving it. I really want to finally check out Christina Henry this year. I am desperate to get my hands on My Ex, the Antichrist, but the last time I checked my library did not have it 🙁
Ooh I hope your library gets My Ex the Antichrist, it’s sooo good!
Great picks! I’m not surprised that the T. Kingfisher books you picked are both on the horror side of her work. 😉
I enjoy Kingfisher’s fantasy, but I really love her horror:-)
This is a great list to remind me of some of the books I want to try, as I’ve read far too few of these.
