Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D
How is everyone’s January going so far? I’ve had the last week off work and it was WONDERFUL. I need another week, lol. But it’s back to work tomorrow, oh well.
This past week I watched Nightbitch on Hulu, and I really loved it. I know it’s getting bad reviews and I can’t really understand why. Has anyone seen it? I think I’m going to read the book and I may do a ‘Book vs. Movie” comparison post once I have.
Finally, I’m excited to see my daughter this Friday at the Wiltern in L.A.! She’s on tour with Ben Barnes playing bass and it’s their second tour stop before they make their way across the country and then in February go to the UK/Europe. Here are the US and European tour schedules, maybe they’re coming to your city:-)
Upcoming reads & reviews:
This week I’m sharing reviews for Wake Up and Open Your Eyes and All the Water in the World. I’m currently reading (and almost finished with) The Way Up is Death, and my next read will be another January release, The Crash. I love getting a jump on my January reading, and hopefully I’ll have time to squeeze in a backlist book this month.
Other posts this week:
Tuesday I’m joining Top Ten Tuesday and posting my Most Anticipated Books of 2025 – First Quarter! And Wednesday is a new batch of cover reveals & new books on Future Fiction.

Looking forward to The Way Up is Death. How exciting about the Ben Barnes tour! Happy new year!
The new banner is pretty cool! I love the icons next to the genres. Badger is a big, big boy, and a handsome one.
How exciting to be able to see your daughter on stage!
Badger is gorgeous. I need to watch Nightbitch. How exciting for your daughter, congratulations! I love the new blog header too.

So exciting about your daughter’s concert and tour! I’m glad to see your comment on Nightbitch — I was going to skip watching it, but maybe I’ll reconsider. Love the new header!
oooo Badger is beautiful! I love the new header too. Trees are one of my things. I hope you get to fit in an extra and maybe even a February one? I’m a little ahead and I love it.

That is so cool about your daughter! How exciting! And Badger is so handsome! It’s supposed to be back to school with students tomorrow for us, unless the current blizzard conditions we are having last long enough that they cancel school tomorrow. I’ve got my fingers crossed for that! lol. Have a great week!

I’m glad you’ll be seeing your daughter soon! She has quite the adventure ahead of her on that tour.
Wishing you a wonderful reading week
I’ve not seen NIGHTBITCH (& probably won’t bc I don’t have Hulu), but I have the audiobook on hold at the library. The concept sounds interesting, so I’m willing to give it a shot.
Congrats on your daughter’s tour and I bet she is loving seeing the world. I love seeing Badger as well! I want to watch Nightbitch soon but also have never read the book.

I’m so glad you get to see your daughter! Especially before she leaves the country for the tour. I really like the new banner. I’m currently watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I’ve never watched all of the episodes before. I really think it’s coming to your blog that makes me want to watch it. lol!
Always happy to see Badger!

I have to head back to work tomorrow, too, after a very lovely two week Christmas break. But it’ll be good to see the kids I work with; hopefully they won’t have completely forgotten everything we’d been working on before Christmas. ;D And I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Crash. Have a good week! 😀

You must be dancing a happy dance for your daughter – how lovely.
I shall check out that schedule – you never know – our paths might just be meant to cross.
Happy reading.

I took some time off between Christmas and New Year’s and was really kicking myself for not taking Thursday and Friday off too. At least it was quiet it at work. I was just looking at the trailer for Nightbitch and thinking I might enjoy that. I am glad you did! How exciting that you’ll get to see your daughter Friday! I hope she has a fun time on tour. I hope you are enjoying your reading and have a great week, Tammy. Happy New Year!

I’m curious to read your review of “All the Water in the World.”
I didn’t know Ben Barnes was a musician. Congrats to your daughter! I hope she has a good time! Have a great time at the concert!
I read Nightbitch a while ago and I think I’ve been hesitant to watch the movie because the trailer had such a weird tone/vibe to it compared to the book, so that’s the main reason I haven’t watched it yet, lol. But I need to! I’m really excited about all of the books you’re reading this week, haha, and I’m looking forward to reading your thoughts.
That’s so exciting about your daughter, too! That’ll be so amazing to see her, and what an incredible opportunity for her!
