Buffy’s Corner 12/1/24 – Looking at the Week Ahead

Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D

My long weekend is over, sadly. I had a lovely time with my family, especially my kids. And I also had a lot of downtime just hanging around the house, reading and doing chores. My daughter and I also did a little Black Friday shopping! Oh, and I saw Wicked, which was AMAZING. I can’t believe it’s a whole year before part two comes out. I have the sudden urge to reread the book by Gregory McGuire (the stage musical was based on the book). Let me know if you’ve seen it as well:-)

Upcoming reads & reviews:

This week I’ll post my review of Beneath the Poet’s House for sure, and maybe another review later in the week, but I don’t yet know what that will be. My next read will probably be The Daughters’ War (I’m working on catching up with unread ARCs this month), and then I only have two other December ARCs to read, Ardent Violet and the Infinite Eye and The Last One.

Other posts this week:

Tomorrow I’ll be sharing my reading plans for December on What’s On My Plate; Tuesday is a Top Ten Tuesday Freebie, so check back to see what list I’ve come up with; and Wednesday is Future Fiction, and I spotted some cool cover reveals last week.

In case you missed:

My daughter took these two photos of Badger, one when he was only about 12 weeks old, and the second one is from this weekend. Crazy!

  1. I’m just finding out that Wicked is going have part 2 so now I’m wondering if the movie follows the show or whether it’s only part of the story. Really looking forward to watching it.
What a difference in those two photos of Badger, both cute though 😀

I have seen the musical, and I was also wondering how they were going to stretch out that second act! It’s also much darker than the first half, so that will be interesting…

Thank you! If you haven’t seen the musical you might be a little lost, so reading the book isn’t a bad idea.

  2. Badger has grown so much!! I haven’t read Wicked and don’t have a desire to watch the movie, but it seems very popular. Glad you enjoyed it.

Have a great week and happy reading!

He does! Or a goat, lol. He does love sleeping in the middle of the kitchen floor, especially if someone is in there cooking:-)

I’m sure there will be some awesome special editions of the Schwab book:-) Glad you also enjoyed Wicked!

  3. Oh my gosh, look at tiny Badger! I went and saw Wicked too. I also was thinking I needed to get the book out and look at it as well. Of course I thought that after going to see the musical back at the beginning of this year I think. Can’t believe break is over and it’s back to work tomorrow. Blah. Oh well, Have a good first week of December!

  4. Badger’s grown up!! What a cutie. I’m so jealous you saw Wicked (but happy to hear that you loved it.) I was supposed to go last week, and then the person I was going with got sick. Hopefully, we’ll find time this coming week!

I hope you enjoy Wicked when you get to see it! I’m pretty sure you will:-) I’m such a big Ariana Grande fan now!

I love when an author nails the epilogue, and you’re right, they can be some of the best parts of the book:-)
