I’m back for a fourth year doing this tag, and since this is the last week of SciFi Month, I thought it would be perfect to squeeze in a new version (using all different books). I’m not sure who created this tag, but I found it on Maddalena’s awesome blog:-)
SPACE: NAME A BOOK THAT TAKES PLACE IN A WORLD OTHER THAN OUR OWN
Out of the Drowning Deep by A.C. Wise. This weird, scary tale takes place on a remote outpost called Bastion, and it has a very “otherworldly” feel to it.
BLACK HOLE: NAME A BOOK THAT COMPLETELY SUCKED YOU IN
Ghost Station by S.A. Barnes. Every one of Barnes’s books I’ve read has sucked me in, so this isn’t a surprise:-)
LIGHTSPEED: NAME A BOOK YOU ARE ANTICIPATING SO MUCH THAT YOU WISH YOU COULD TRAVEL AT LIGHTSPEED TO GET TO IT
The Third Rule of Time Travel by Philip Fracassi. I’m beyond excited to read Fracassi’s next book, I haven’t been disappointed yet!
NEBULA: NAME A BOOK WITH A BEAUTIFUL COVER
The Stardust Grail by Yume Kitasei. Not only is this a favorite cover, but I loved Kitasei’s send book.
GRAVITY: NAME YOUR FAVORITE ROMANTIC PAIRING THAT SEEMS TO HAVE A GRAVITATIONAL PULL TO EACH OTHER
Fiasco by Constance Fay. Fay’s fun space opera series focus on both action and romance, so this is the perfect choice for this prompt. In this story the romance is between Cyn and Micah, and I thought their relationship was a lot of fun.
THE BIG BANG: NAME THE BOOK THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON READING SCI-FI
Evolution’s Shore by Ian McDonald is one of the earlier SF books I read, and it showed me how fantastical this genre can be.
ASTEROID: NAME A SHORT STORY OR NOVELLA THAT YOU LOVE
The Tusks of Extinction by Ray Nayler. This story is emotional and brutal, but it’s so different from anything else I’ve read.
GALAXY: NAME A BOOK WITH MULTIPLE POVs
Devil’s Gun by Cat Rambo. Rambo uses omniscient POV, a style you don’t see that often, to flit back and forth among her many characters and their thoughts. This is a fantastic series!
SPACESHIP: NAME A BOOK TITLE THAT WOULD BE A GREAT NAME FOR A SPACESHIP
Calypso by Oliver K. Langmead. I’m cheating because Calypso is the name of the ship in this story, lol. This could also have been in the “beautiful cover” category!
I can’t stop looking at that first cover, it’s so strange and striking.
I really must try to make time to read Ghost Station. I’m in the mood for all things horror at the moment so some space horror sounds good 😀

Yes to Tusks of Extinction! I don’t think I’ve read enough sci-fi to fill out this book tag haha.
Great tag! I have read The Tusks of Extinction. Loved it!
Adding Evolution’s Shore to my TBR.
My post today is also scifi: https://wordsandpeace.com/2024/11/26/my-top-10-books-for-scifimonth-thanksgiving/
I want to try Ghost Station and The Stardust Grail! I also loved The Tusks of Extinction. Such a clever little book!
Ooh, I’m going to have to do this tag too!
Okay, here’s mine: https://never-anyone-else.blogspot.com/2024/11/scfi-month-2024-intergalactic-book-tag.html
🙂
I was thinking, “you’re right, Calypso would make a great name for a ship.” Then I read what you’d written below the cover, that in fact it IS. 🙂
I guess I missed sci-fi month, but I should do this tag, it looks fun! You’re not wrong though, Calypso is a good name for a ship lol. You have me curious about the Tusks of Extinction.
