Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D
What a week, eh? I think it’s best to just hunker down and read right now, which is exactly what I’m doing. I have lots of thoughts like everyone else, but I think Chuck Wendig sums up exactly what a lot of us are feeling right now.
I will mention that I’m watching Nobody Wants This on Netflix, and it’s soo good! I love Kristen Bell, and the two families on the show are so funny.
Upcoming reads & reviews:
I’m currently reading THREE books. I know. The Swarm is pretty long, and I’m trying to finish something short for a Monday review, so I picked up Devil’s Gun as well (so much fun to be back in this world!) The Swarm is super creepy and I’m enjoying it a lot. I’m also reading a short story collection, Broken Stars, but I’m dipping in and out and it may be a couple of weeks before I finish. But I’m thoroughly enjoying these stories! Next up, a change of pace seems like a good idea, so I think I’ll start The Teller of Small Fortunes.
Other posts this week:
On Tuesday, look for a fun SciFi Month post—I’ve decided to look back over the last ten years of participating in SciFi Month, and I’m highlighting my favorite posts from each year; Wednesday I have three new books to share on Future Fiction; and I never got around to writing up my “Five Star Review” discussion post, maybe later this week…
In case you missed:
My posts from last week:
Dark Space by Rob Hart & Alex Segura – Review 3/5 stars
The Hollow and the Haunted by Camilla Raines – Review 4/5 stars
Top Ten Tuesday – Books With Creepy Eyes on the Cover
Grimm Curiosities by Sharon Lynn Fisher – Review 4.5/5 stars
My heart goes out to all the women, queer individuals, racial minorities, sick/disabled people and everyone else who’s going to be affected by this disastrous turn of events. In our little corners of the internet, we can’t probably do more than welcome them and boost books by/about them…I hope it helps.
I love that you’re doing a Sci-Fi Month retrospective…I wonder what I’ve missed! And as usual, I’m looking forward to Future Fiction (and your reviews, it goes without saying :)).

November in the mountains is beautiful! And sorry for the election results….sigh!
Thanks Sophie!
I just picked up Grimm Curiosities based on your review! I’m also looking forward to your SciFi month posts
It’s been a really hard week and it’s really scary out there I’m sending you and everyone else who is scared, sad, and raging so much love! I think reading is a great place to put our energy right now, and it looks like you have a lot of great ones ♥ Also, November in the mountains looks gorgeous.
I’m one with an opinion that people need to stop listening to the main stream news media and learn to listen to people with different perspective from them. What people are saying with what going to happen is ridiculous and full with paranoia.
That a nice landscape picture of the mountains.
Have a great week.
