I always look forward to November, because it’s Sci Fi Month! If you aren’t familiar with this fun event, click on the banner above to learn more. This is a month long celebration of all thing science fiction, and there’s all sorts of fun going on. I have an ambitious reading plan, and I’ll probably do some lists as well.
Huge thanks to the hosts of this event for all their hard work: imyril of There’s Always Room for One More, Annemieke of A Dance With Books, Mayri the BookForager, and Lisa of Dear Geek Place!
#SciFiMonth reading plans:
Lots of series books in this pile!
This TBR is a mix of old and new review books. The Relentless Legion by J.S. Dewes is the final book in The Divide series. I’m not sure I remember much about the last book, unfortunately, since it’s been over three years since I read it. But I certainly don’t have time to do rereads, so hopefully it will be easy to dive back in.
Ardent Violet and the Infinite Eye by Alex White is a December release, but I just have to include it in Sci Fi Month, since it’s a fantastic series. I cannot wait to be back in White’s crazy world!
Dark Space by Rob Hart & Alex Segura is a leftover review book from October, but I don’t feel bad because it fits into Sci Fi Month perfectly:-)
Broken Stars by Jeremy Szal is a collection of short stories. Not my usual read, but I had to accept this for review because I love the author’s work so much.
And finally, something I’ve tried to do in the past but was never able to pull off: I’d love to catch up with Cat Rambo’s Disco Space Opera series and read the last two books (yes I am behind!): Devil’s Gun and Rumor Has It. Let’s see if I can do it!
Other Sci Fi Month posts:
Hopefully I can throw together a few lists and maybe even some book tags. Look for a Science Fiction Books to Read in 2025 list for sure, and I may do a Best Sci Fi of 2024 So Far (although to be honest, I have not read as much SF this year as I usually do).
Non SF books planned for November:
Of course I have a handful of other genres that I’d like to read this month. I’ve been hearing good things about The Teller of Small Fortunes by Julie Leong, and I do hope I can find time to read this.
I’m also excited to read the final book in Susan Dennard’s series The Luminaries. I don’t read a lot of YA series, but this is one I’m on top of, so I will definitely be reading The Whispering Night!
I’ve already read Grimm Curiosities by Sharon Lynn Fisher (look for my review next week), and I loved it! This is an atmospheric, historical fantasy with a great plot and interesting characters. Also there’s a romance which is nicely integrated into the plot.
Servant of Earth by Sarah Hawley is the start of a new fantasy/romance series that involves the fae. It sounds really good and I hope I can fit it in.
For a change of pace, Snow Drowned by Jennifer D. Lyle is a YA horror story that’s getting solid reviews so far, and I’m very curious about it.
The Swarm by Andy Marino is a the apocalypse in the form of swarms of insects. I’m not a big bug fan, but I am intrigued by this book.
We Shall Be Monsters by Alyssa Wees is a book I picked up at Comic Con, so it’s not technically a review book. But I would like to read it.
How many amazing books!! I hope you will love them all!! I want to read the last book in The Divide series so bad!! But I hope to finish The Graven series this month so… I have my plate full! And I am planning on continuing Rambo’s series too!!
And I am curious to know what you would think of The Teller of Small Fortunes!
I know so many bloggers reading The Teller of Small Fortunes, I hope we all love it:-)
I’ll be looking forward to your scifi reviews. I can’t add books to November but maybe December. I’m enjoying The Teller of Small Fortunes.
I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying it, I’d love to start it soon.
I see several here I’d love to get to, especially Swarm and Snow Drowned. Hope I can squeeze them in.

I may start Swarm next, it sounds creepy but good!
I’m hoping to read The Teller of Small Fortunes this month too! As for sci-fi, I’m not sure — I have a few fantasy books I want to get to, but haven’t quite landed on my next sci-fi read. Hope you enjoy all of these!
Thanks Lisa, I hope we both enjoy The Teller of Small Fortunes.
As ever, a mouth-watering selection of books to read, Tammy!! I’m not reading all that much sci fi atm – but I’ve requested a copy of The Whispering Night, so fingers crossed I’ll get hold of an arc as I’ve read the others in the series.
Good luck getting a copy! I’m so curious to see how the series wraps up:-)
Enjoy your Sci-fi! 🙂

Thanks Stormi!
Good luck catching up with that series and getting to all of the books on your TBR. I’d love to try Sci fi month out one year, mostly to try and get into the genre as it’s one I really want to explore more. I hope you enjoy all of these books and that the short story collection ends up going well. I’m most intrigued by Servant Of Earth & Teller Of Small Fortunes but I have some of the others on my TBR too. I love the cover for We Shall Be Monsters, it’s stunning.
Thanks Charlotte! I feel I have a lot of good choices this month.
Looking forward to your thoughts on Dark Space. Have fun!

I’m loving it so far!
Happy SciFi Month! I hope you enjoy your reads.
Thanks Lauren, you too!
Lol every time I see a Cat Rambo cover, I always think “Cat Rambo” is the title.
Ha ha she has the best name, right?
I can’t wait to read (listen to) The Whispering Night! That series deserves more hype!
I need to start it soon!
I can’t wait to add more scifi books to my list on your posts this month. At least you have a more doable TBR than I do for Nonfiction November. I added too many books for it. Send help haha
Next Tuesday I have a big post with a lot of upcoming sci fi:-)
Ah no, I haven’t read Devil’s Gun yet either, so I’m not ready for Rumor Has It. Why can’t these authors slow down a bit?!??!! Joking, of course, though only sorta. 🙂 And I’m so drawn to the cover of The Teller of Small Fortunes. I’m concerned it may not work for me, but I’d really like it to. The cover tells a story all its own and I very much hope the book tells the same story.
Devil’s Gun is a lot of fun, I’m finishing it up today:-)
I’m too scared to read “The Swarm,” so I’m going to keep an eye out for your review of it. Based on your thoughts of the book, I’ll know whether or not I can handle reading it.

Ha ha The Swarm is very creepy!
Hope you have a great Sci Fi Month.
Some of those non sci fi covers look very interesting so I’ll look out for your reviews of those as well 😀
Thanks, so far so good!
I’ve been terrible this year at joining in with events, I’ve been trying to keep up with my reviews and TBR and after last month that is still very much my focus. I hope you enjoy your sci-fi month – you’ve certainly lined up some lovely books.
Lynn 😀
I probably won’t get to all of them, we’ll see.
Welcome aboard the scifi shuttle. I still haven’t picked up the White book but I’ve seen the first one around a lot
