I always look forward to November, because it’s Sci Fi Month! If you aren’t familiar with this fun event, click on the banner above to learn more. This is a month long celebration of all thing science fiction, and there’s all sorts of fun going on. I have an ambitious reading plan, and I’ll probably do some lists as well.
Huge thanks to the hosts of this event for all their hard work: imyril of There’s Always Room for One More, Annemieke of A Dance With Books, Mayri the BookForager, and Lisa of Dear Geek Place!
#SciFiMonth reading plans:
Lots of series books in this pile!
This TBR is a mix of old and new review books. The Relentless Legion by J.S. Dewes is the final book in The Divide series. I’m not sure I remember much about the last book, unfortunately, since it’s been over three years since I read it. But I certainly don’t have time to do rereads, so hopefully it will be easy to dive back in.
Ardent Violet and the Infinite Eye by Alex White is a December release, but I just have to include it in Sci Fi Month, since it’s a fantastic series. I cannot wait to be back in White’s crazy world!
Dark Space by Rob Hart & Alex Segura is a leftover review book from October, but I don’t feel bad because it fits into Sci Fi Month perfectly:-)
Broken Stars by Jeremy Szal is a collection of short stories. Not my usual read, but I had to accept this for review because I love the author’s work so much.
And finally, something I’ve tried to do in the past but was never able to pull off: I’d love to catch up with Cat Rambo’s Disco Space Opera series and read the last two books (yes I am behind!): Devil’s Gun and Rumor Has It. Let’s see if I can do it!
Other Sci Fi Month posts:
Hopefully I can throw together a few lists and maybe even some book tags. Look for a Science Fiction Books to Read in 2025 list for sure, and I may do a Best Sci Fi of 2024 So Far (although to be honest, I have not read as much SF this year as I usually do).
Non SF books planned for November:
Of course I have a handful of other genres that I’d like to read this month. I’ve been hearing good things about The Teller of Small Fortunes by Julie Leong, and I do hope I can find time to read this.
I’m also excited to read the final book in Susan Dennard’s series The Luminaries. I don’t read a lot of YA series, but this is one I’m on top of, so I will definitely be reading The Whispering Night!
I’ve already read Grimm Curiosities by Sharon Lynn Fisher (look for my review next week), and I loved it! This is an atmospheric, historical fantasy with a great plot and interesting characters. Also there’s a romance which is nicely integrated into the plot.
Servant of Earth by Sarah Hawley is the start of a new fantasy/romance series that involves the fae. It sounds really good and I hope I can fit it in.
For a change of pace, Snow Drowned by Jennifer D. Lyle is a YA horror story that’s getting solid reviews so far, and I’m very curious about it.
The Swarm by Andy Marino is a the apocalypse in the form of swarms of insects. I’m not a big bug fan, but I am intrigued by this book.
We Shall Be Monsters by Alyssa Wees is a book I picked up at Comic Con, so it’s not technically a review book. But I would like to read it.
How many amazing books!! I hope you will love them all!! I want to read the last book in The Divide series so bad!! But I hope to finish The Graven series this month so… I have my plate full! And I am planning on continuing Rambo’s series too!!
And I am curious to know what you would think of The Teller of Small Fortunes!
