May Flowers – Ten Flowery Fantasy Books

Artwork by Elena Zakharchuk

I’m linking up with Top Ten Tuesday, which was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Check out upcoming Top Ten themes on Jana’s blog!

Today’s theme is “May Flowers,” and in honor of Wyrd & Wonder, I’ve found ten (mostly) fantasy books with flowers on the cover. This is one of my favorite cover trends, and I think it’s hard for anyone to resist a cover with colorful blooms. One of the books isn’t fantasy, but I love the cover so much I decided to include it anyway.  Take a look and let me know if any of these sound good! (listed in alphabetical order)

The Book of Thorns by Hester Fox

A Botanical Daughter by Noah Medlock

Filthy Rich Fae by Geneva Lee

Gorse by Sam K. Horton

Haunt Sweet Home by Sarah Pinsker

Hearts Still Beating by Brooke Archer

A Rose By Any Other Name by Mary McMyne

Truly Madly Magically by Hazel Beck

The Waters by Bonnie Jo Campbell

The Witches of El Paso by Luis Jaramillo

  1. I love book covers with flowers on too. They always tend to catch your eye. I’m going to check a few of these out now as they’re new to me. The cover for Gorse actually kind of disturbs me (although im not surprised with the bird) but I remember the premise leaving me really intrigued.

  2. These are all lovely and have flowers finally overtaken Book Snake? Whatever will he do! Of course, I added three more books to my wish list here which I definitely didn’t need to do. Hope you love all that you get to.

  3. Flowers provide endless potential for great book covers. I love this selection. The two that stand out to me are A Botanical Daughter and Gorse, likely because of how different each looks from the rest.

  4. I haven’t read any of these yet, but this is definitely one of my favorite cover trends too. AND fantasy is my favorite genre, so this list checks all the boxes for me. 😀

A Rose by Any Other Name caught my eye the most bc I’ve been enjoying historical fantasies so much lately!

  5. Gorgeous selections all. Haunt Sweet Home, Botanical Daughter, and Gorse are my fav covers here. Which one isn’t the fantasy? Is it Haunt Sweet Home?

  6. I’m loving the current fashion for flowery book covers as it produces absolutely stunning results:)). Thank you for highlighting this selection, Tammy.

  7. Another great option would be The Garden of Delights by Amal Singh, which is coming out tomorrow! It’s a really striking cover.
