Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D
We had a big winter storm last week, which dumped a couple feet of snow on the mountain (and double that in the higher elevations). We’re still digging ourselves out, lol. Luckily our dog Badger loves snow and cold weather (he’s part Husky), so we don’t have to worry about that, at least. I hope wherever you are, the winter weather isn’t treating you too badly.
Upcoming reads & reviews:
Tomorrow I’ll post my review of An Education in Malice, which was pretty good, but not quite what I expected. The Butcher of the Forest is a short, dark story about a woman who is forced to enter a dangerous forest in order to rescue two children. I love it! After that, I’d like to knock Baby Teeth off the list (my TBR Jar pick for February), and then it’s time for The Tainted Cup.
Other posts this week:
I’m planning a lighter blogging week to give myself a break, and right now my only regular post will be Future Fiction on Wednesday, other than reviews.
In case you missed:
My posts from last week:
The Friday Face-Off: Baby Teeth
What Feasts At Night by T. Kingfisher – Review 3/5 stars
Ten “New to Me” Authors I Hope to Read in 2024
The Frame-Up by Gwenda Bond – Review 3.5/5 stars
Looking forward to your comments on An Education in Malice: I took the plunge and requested it, and I’m in the middle of it and while it’s faring better than Evocation it has not won me over so completely as Dowry of Blood did. At least for now…

I’m afraid my review of An Education in Malice is mostly negative, which breaks my heart. I’m very curious to hear your take on it….
Man that’s a lot of snow!! It’s been about 60 for the last week in Virginia and I just saw my first crocus of the year has bloomed!
Wow that’s so warm! I’m dreaming of the weather being in the 60s:-)
The weather here is so unpredictable this time of year! I think there’s a small chance of snow tomorrow now
The pic has such beautiful colors!! And I am curious to read your review of An Education in Malice!
Thanks Susy!
Wow, I bet winter in the mountains is really something to see!

It’s very snowy for sure! But hard to live in, I miss my boring old no snow winters:-)
I LOVED The Tainted Cup and hope you do too. I am surprised it took this long for you to get snow. Winter is usually over here by March so we have little of it left now. Yay! I’m all about the garden. I need more Badger content. lol
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
I’m so glad! Yes, our snow seems to be a little late, although last year we had snow in May!
That’s a lot of snow!! Glad you all are safe…I saw news clips of lots of flooding in the San Diego area, I think. BUTCHER OF THE FOREST is one I was interested in from Tor, but held myself back to keep my February from getting out of control lol.
There was a lot of flooding in Southern California, but luckily the big storms seem to be over. Butcher of the Forest was so good, and very short:-)
The Butcher of the Forest sounds interesting! Can’t wait to hear more about it.
It was very good!
When the snow moves from inches to feet it certainly does take longer (and more effort) to shovel out. It can create some beautiful scenery, though, as can sunrise in Calgary. Stay warm!
The snow is beautiful, but I’m over it;-)
That sunrise is stunning!!!! And the weather is too mild here! Good luck shovelling everything out 😉
I guess we got all the cold weather this year:-)
That’s a gorgeous photo, Tammy! And wow, share some of that snow! We’re having abnormal weather conditions nowadays. I just miss snowstorms hahaha

Thanks Lashaan! I wish I could send ALL the snow to you:-)
Stay warm! I need to check out the new Lucy Foley. And Baby Teth hope you enjoy!
So far Baby Teeth is wild!
I hope you (and I) are done with the snow!

Me too! Although we have a storm coming this weekend and there might be more snow… After I just had my driveway plowed!
So much snow! The snow forecast here amounted to nothing but rain in the end. I love that pic, so many gorgeous colours 😀

We have a big rain storm on the way, and now I’m dreaming of Spring!
I still need to read Baby Teeth. Maybe soon. I LOVE that photo!
Oh it was fun! I just finished it last night, and I’m so glad a sequel is coming out.
That picture looks gorgeous.
Have a great week.

I have been enjoying the view of the snow from a distance. 🙂 I am glad Badger is enjoying the snow. The Butcher of the Forest sounds good and I am glad to hear you liked it! Enjoy your week!

I’d give anything to view the snow from a distance right now, lol. Have a good week, Wendy!
Shame about an Education in Malice, it just didn’t have that certain something that raised up Dowry of Blood.
Lets hope to some good books ahead.
Lynn 😀
I’m starting The Tainted Cup today so hopefully it will be much better:-)
That sunrise photo is gorgeous! I’m curious to see what you think of Baby Teeth. I remember enjoying it overall when I read it. It was a wild ride!
Thanks Suzanne! I just finished Baby Teeth last night, what a trip!
