Buffy’s Corner 11/26/23 – Looking at the Week Ahead

Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D

I hope everyone who celebrated had a lovely Thanksgiving. I loved having my kids, parents and sister all together with us, and I loved having the whole week off work. (and I’m NOT looking forward to going back tomorrow…) The weather here has also taken a nosedive. It’s down in the 20s at night, and we’re supposed to get our first snow of the season later this week. I’m both excited and dreading it, lol.

Upcoming reads & reviews:

Tomorrow look for my review of Bookshops & Bonedust (spoiler alert: I loved it!) I’ve also finished reading The Hunting Moon, but this week is pretty packed with other posts so I may not post my review until next week. My next two books will most likely be Salt & Broom and The Ghosts of Beatrice Bird.

Other posts this week:

It’s a very busy blogging week! On Tuesday, look for my post Best Science Fiction Books of 2023 So Far; Wednesday is Future Fiction, and I have three new books to share; Thursday is the last day of the month, can you believe it? So look for my Sci-Fi Month Wrap-Up (as well as the non SF books I read); Friday is December 1st, so check back to see What’s On My Plate; and I may do a book haul on Saturday.

In case you missed:

My posts from last week:

Calamity by Constance Fay – Review 4.5/5 stars

Future Fiction #254

The Star and the Strange Moon by Constance Sayers – Review 4.5/5 stars

Hope to see you around the blogosphere:-D

  1. Ooh, snow, – I love and hate it lol. You’ll have to post some pictures.
You sound like you had a lovely TG with all the family – back to work now (for a rest I should think).
Happy blogging this week – sounds like you’ve got a lot on.

  2. Glad to hear you had a great Thanksgiving. Like you, I’m not looking forward to going back to work… It’s good seeing Bookshops & Bonedust as I just picked up a physical copy of Legends & Lattes at a book fair yesterday. Can’t wait to try it. And I love Moses’ coot photo. It’s fun watching water birds take off and land.

I’m ready to read Legends & Lattes now, since I’m curious to see where the story goes. And thanks, Moses was trying to get “the” photo of the coots but he’s still trying for “the one.” I love this though, not sure what he means, lol.

  3. Glad you had a great Thanksgiving! Mine wasn’t to bad. We got our first snow but it was just a dusting, but it was enough I am done and ready for spring…lol.

Have a great week and happy reading!

  4. Beautiful picture as usual! I need to read the Travis Baldree books! Like you I am NOT looking forward to going back to work tomorrow. Three and a half weeks till Christmas break, and they are usually some of the worst weeks of the year too! We got the temps going down here and actually our second snow of the year. Here’s hoping we both have a good week!

  5. So pleased to hear your Thanksgiving celebrations went off so well. I LOATHE snow, so I’m very glad I live in a part of the world where it’s relatively rare. And it generally looks pretty for about an hour or two, when it brings the whole place to a juddering halt, then turns to a slippery, slushy mess. Thank you for sharing that fabulous pic of the two coots running across the surface of the lake – how stunning! Have a great week, Tammy:)).

I’m glad you don’t have to put up with snow! I think city snow is different from mountain snow. We just huddle down and don’t go anywhere, and I refuse to drive in it, so I’m sort of OK with it:-)

  6. Glad to hear you had a good Thanksgiving, and I hear you about not wanting to go back to work! It’s so nice to have the days off, but going back is HARD. Please can I just stay home and read for another week? 🙂 Looking forward to your reviews — I loved Bookshops & Bonedust too, and just picked up a copy of Salt & Broom, so I’m eager to hear what you thought. Wishing you a great week!

Exactly! I was getting in the groove of reading and now work, ugh! I’m really enjoying Salt & Broom so far:-)

I think he’s going to love the snow. He never seems to get cold, so I don’t think it will bother him.

  7. Looks like you have some great reads and posts up ahead! I can’t believe friday it’s going to be December ALREADY. I say this every year but where has the year gone? Always catches me off guard. 😛

  8. Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving! It’s gotten cold here too. We had snow today but it wasn’t too bad… the yard was white for a while but it’s kind of melted now. Hope yours isn’t too bad!

  9. Glad you enjoyed Thanksgiving and had some quality time off.
I really need to read Legends and Lattes and also Books and Bonedust. Cosy fantasy is something I’m really in the mood for these days for some reason.
    Love this week’s photo 😀

  10. The colder temps have hit here as well and I’m not excited about it, especially tonight when it’s supposed to go down into the teens. I’m already struggling to get up after the holiday break and now I really won’t want to get out of my warm bed, lol.
