Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D
San Diego Comic Con is one of my favorite events, but I haven’t been able to get tickets since 2019. But yesterday the SDCC gods were smiling on me and I was FINALLY able to nab tickets for me and my daughter for 2024:-) To say I’m excited is an understatement, and I’m still a bit in shock.
Also, if you celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope you have a good one. My family is coming to my house this year so I have a lot of work to do, but it’s fun work right? I’m trying a new recipe, this maple roasted carrots with hazelnuts & goat cheese recipe, yum! Let me know if you have any good Thanksgiving recipes!
Upcoming reads & reviews:
This week look for reviews of The Star and the Strange Moon which was really good, and Calamity, which I’m currently reading and having fun with. After that, I’d like to read at least one more book for Sci-Fi Month (I’m thinking Devil’s Gun), and I still have some November review books, so I think I’ll pick up The Hunting Moon after that. I have the whole week off work, so I hope to get a lot of reading in:-)
Other posts this week:
The cover reveals just won’t stop, and I had some trouble choosing only three books for Future Fiction; the last Friday Fives of Sci-Fi Month is “Eat Your Greens,” so I’ll try to come up with five books that revolve around food.
In case you missed:
My posts from last week:
Good Girls Don’t Die by Christina Henry – Review 4/5 stars
Earth Retrograde by R.W.W. Greene – Review 4/5 stars
Yay for the con! I wonder who the celebrity guests will be (I couldn’t find any names on the net). And happy Thanksgiving!

I don’t think they announce guests until literally the week before the event, but it’s fun to see who’s going to be there. I’m really just interested in the authors though:-)
Congrats on nabbing those tickets! I never realized how difficult they were to get until I looked at NYCC tickets
From what I hear NYCC is a lot easier to get tickets to, but I could be wrong.
Yay for getting SDCC tickets! We’ve got like the whole Scream cast of big names coming to our Planet Comicon next year, but I don’t know that is enough for me to go yet. Waiting to see if there is anyone else going. Hosting Thanksgiving is a big deal! In a way I’m glad I’m single this time of year so I don’t have to do that and get to go enjoy the time at other people’s houses. Although then I don’t have leftovers when my mom isn’t doing it anymore, lol. And as usual, that nature picture is amazing! Hope you have a nice week and enjoy The Hunting Moon if you get to it! I’m looking forward to lots of reading time this week as well.

I haven’t hosted TG in years, so I’m actually looking forward to it. I hope you have a nice holiday!
Oh how great! I’ve always wanted to go to a Comic Con. I’m sure it will be a lot of fun! And hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving. I always enjoy looking at pictures from the food (and drooling haha).
I love looking at food photos as well, I’m trying to narrow down my Thanksgiving menu and I want to make all the things!
I am so happy that you’ll go to ComicCon! I am back from YALC that happens at the same time as the London ComicCon and it’s a lot of fun! Also I finished the Hunting Moon last week and I loved it!
I love the energy at cons, it’s like nothing else. I can’t wait to start The Hunting Moon:-)
That’s exciting. I only wanted to go when Sons of Anarchy was there but never did. Exciting to have a week off with good food, reading time, relaxing and maybe extra walks for Badger.
Badger will definitely get extra walks this week:-)
How exciting about Comic-con! I’ve still never gone… but some day, I hope! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the Constance Sayers book. Have a great week!
Thanks Lisa, Comic Con is fun but so hard to get tickets to these days.
