Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D
Puppy update: the puppy is doing very well and is very much a puppy, lol. I’m exhausted but it’s all part of the process. No pup photo this week, but I’ll post one next week for sure.
By the time this post goes live, I will have finished watching Riverdale Season 7. I wasn’t sure how I felt about it in the beginning, but it’s really grown on me, and I think it’s actually one of the best seasons of the entire show. Let me know if you’ve watched it!
Upcoming reads & reviews:
I’ve barely read at all this week, and I’m blaming the puppy, lol. I will be finishing up Black River Orchard this weekend and I’ll post a review this week, but I’m not sure what day that will happen. I’m also trying to read and review Stars Like Acid, but it may go into next week, we’ll see. And you guys, next week is October! Not only have I barely made a dent in my September books, but I haven’t started on any October releases either. I’m dying to read Dreambound, so that will be next, and then I think I’ll change gears and read My Darling Girl.
Other posts this week:
Other than (hopefully) reviews, look for Future Fiction on Wednesday, and Saturday I’ll share my September Wrap-Up.
In case you missed:
My posts from last week:
What Kind of Mother by Clay McLeod Chapman – Review 4/5 stars
The Graveyard Shift by Maria Lewis – Review 3.5/5 stars
The picture is so beautiful!! And puppy are a joy but they need so much time!! But still… They are amazing!
Puppies really change your lifestyle, I had forgotten that, lol.
With my puppy I am glad that I like audiobooks or I wouldn’t get anything read either. 🙂
Have a great week and happy reading!

That’s a great idea, listening to audio while playing with the puppy:-)
Puppies have a way of drawing your attention away from what your doing..
Have a great week.

They do! I have to embrace a new routine right now:-)
Visiting my brother’s house with their new puppy is a reminder for me about the craziness of puppies! I watched and enjoyed the first few seasons of Riverdale, but then it got weird and I quit it. Of course I was binging because I didn’t start it when it did on tv. Hope you enjoy your new books!

Thanks Lisa! Ha ha yes Riverdale has some very weird moments.
Sorry you didn’t get to read as much during this past week, but hopefully that’ll change this week! I look forward to your review of DREAMBOUND…the premise looks fascinating.

I hope I can get to it! It’s been getting amazing reviews.
It’s been a while that I’ve been wondering if I should ever try something by Wendig. I hope you enjoy whatever you do read, Tammy! 🙂

Thanks Lashaan! I’m a big Wendig fan, so it’s a no brainer for me to read his new book:-)
Glad t0 hear the puppy is doing well, even if cutting into your reading time. 🙂 That trumpeter swan photo has the look and feel of some older painters. I always like when that happens.
It’s very much like a painting, I think that’s why I chose it this week:-)
OK we didn’t get any picture of the puppy (and that’s sad LOL) but that picture of the swans is amazing and looks like a painting!
Thanks Sophie! I promise a puppy photo next week:-)
I know it’s just confounding that September is nearly gone. But I love the weather. I listen to audio so the dog walking at least doesn’t cut into my reading time. Good luck on reading some of those new ones.

I love the weather too, although I’ve heard we often get our first snow in October, crazy!
I’m glad Riverdale eneded well (and that I’m not the only one still watching the show lol). Thankfully Netflix remembered where I left off- I’m mid season 4. I thought I was farther than that, but I’m looking forward to seeing where they go!

Season 7 is really different from the other seasons, but I thought the storyline and the writing were so good. I’m going to watch it again soon:-)
I am really wanting to read Dreambound too, and I cannot wait for your thoughts on Orchard! And Stars Like Acid, because it sounds really interesting but I need someone to tell me whether I should go for it first Glad Riverdale ended well, too! I tagged out somewhere around levitating babies, but i think I watched a few of S4 too? I may have to give it another chance if it ends well (also kudos to them for not ending a CW show where the fandom wants to throw themselves off a bridge!)

Riverdale is definitely a crazy show, and it goes off the rails more than once, lol. The last season is very different from the other seasons, very sentimental. It worked for me!
Puppies have a way of taking over for sure. We don’t know if we want to get Apollo a puppy or adopt a 2 year old or so from the shelter. Wish he could tell us what he prefers. I’m glad to hear Riverdale gets better. I’ve only watched the first 3 and wasn’t too thrilled. You give me hope!
I think two year old dogs can be a handful too, I guess it depends on the dog. I’m glad you’re thinking of getting a friend for Apollo!
Yes… babies and puppies are such hard work. I stopped reading completely for 7 years when my littlies were little because I was afraid of getting too engrossed in a book to look after them, properly. I hope the coming week is a good one, Tammy:).
I don’t think I read much when my kids were little. I certainly didn’t have a blog at that time!
Puppies are definitely a lot, haha. Hopefully you can get more reading in this week. 🙂
I can’t believe October is next week! I’m excited to read your review for Black River Orchard! I’ve been working on my review for ages and for some reason have been struggling with it, haha. Hopefully this week I’ll get it finished. Stars Like Acid and Dreambound seems o interesting, I’ll be looking forward to your thoughts on those as well!

Black River Orchard was hard to review. A LOT happens and there are so many characters. Honestly it’s not the best review I’ve ever written, but at least it’s done:-)
Ahh, your pup is finding his paws and stealing all your attention – they are entertaining bundles. I think the shock for me in getting another dog was that my old companion was 16, and had slowed down considerably – you kind of forget that a young dog has so much more energy.
Happy reading this week,
Lynn 😀
Same here, our dogs were older and very calm for the most part. It’s sort of a shock!
Haha, aren’t puppies fun? And I know right? I was like, ooh I’m doing so well with my tbr this month and then I look at the calendar and realize what date it is and that I should have been starting October books by now (which I haven’t really, lol). I’ll probably have to push Black River Orchard to next month, especially given how long it is!
I didn’t do very well with my September books, quantity wise, hopefully I can make up for it in October!
I’m glad to hear you’re having fun with your new pup! Oh wow, I forgot about Riverdale. I think I was on season 4 or 5 when I last watched it. I should probably catch up at some point, haha.
A lot has happened on Riverdale since season 4!
Glad to hear the puppy’s doing well and I’m already looking forward to a new photo 😀
He’s very hard to photograph, since he’s always moving, lol. But i will have some pics soon:-)
