Summer of Horror 2023 – Wrap-Up

At the beginning of the summer, I posted a list of horror books being released in June, July and August that I wanted to read, and now that summer is over, I’m looking back to see how well I did. I had 18 books on the list, and I managed to read 13, and I’m pretty happy with that number! Also, the books I didn’t get to I plan to catch up with in the next few months. Here’s a graphic of what I crossed off my TBR, and my reviews are linked if you missed any.

Maeve Fly by C.J. Leede

Night’s Edge by Liz Kerin

Burn the Negative by Josh Winning

Dead of Winter by Darcy Coates

Boys in the Valley by Philip Fracasi

Silver Nitrate by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

Camp Damascus by Chuck Tingle

Delicate Condition by Danielle Valentine

Wild Spaces by S.L. Coney

Mister Magic by Kiersten White

Whalefall by Daniel Kraus

Looking Glass Sound by Catriona Ward

Vampires of El Norte by Isabel Cañas

Did you do any summer challenges? Have you read any of these books?

  1. I’d say you did great. I didn’t do any summer challenges although I wanted to. My reading took a dip and I feared that meant a slump coming.

Thanks. It’s the first time I’ve done anything over the summer like this. I might try it again next year. Good luck on your slump!

  2. My summer of horror is going to be extending well into the spooky season and beyond! I think I did a pretty good job getting to all my horror reads as well. There are a few here that weren’t on my list, but I also had Schrader’s Chord and The Handyman Method.
