August 2023 Reading Wrap-Up

I managed to read and review eleven books this month (a new record!), and overall it was a very good bunch. My top two books of the month were Whalefall and Delicate Condition, and Whalefall is my new favorite book of the year so far, it was that good. Please check out my review if you missed it. I’m trying to convince more people to read it! Here are the books I read this month, and you can click on the titles to read my reviews:

Whalefall by Daniel Kraus

Delicate Condition by Danielle Valentine

Thornhedge by T. Kingfisher

101 Books to Read Before You’re Murdered by Sadie Hartmann

Looking Glass Sound by Catriona Ward

Wildwood Magic by Willa Reece

What Never Happened by Rachel Howzell Hall

Cruel Angels Past Sundown by Hailey Piper

  1. Wow, you had a great reading month! I managed to read only three books. I think the Buffy book was my favorite.
    T. Kingfisher is one of my favorite writers and I want to read the Thornheadge.

  2. Looks like I missed quite a few of your reviews while I was gone. I read Mister Magic though and based on that rating, I think we feel the same way about it lol. Still need to get to Whalefall and Vampires of El Norte, that will be for September!

  3. I read some great books this month but think Fantasticland was a favorite followed by the cozy dog trilogy I binged for the Dog Days of Summer Reading Challenge. You read quite a bit this month. I am already overwhelmed looking at the books I need/want to read in September.

  4. 11/17 is pretty good!! Glad your month was good but… Both are still insane numbers though, haha—hopefully you have a more chill September!
