Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D
First, Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there!
After living in my new house for six months, I’ve finally started my personal library project, i.e. unpacking all my books and organizing and shelving them. So far I’ve finished the A’s and I’m just starting the B’s and here’s what it looks like so far: (those are all B’s on the floor)
This is a long term project, since I don’t currently have enough bookcases for my whole library, but I’m OK with that. I’m also cataloguing each book, and I’m using an app called Bookshelf that seems pretty good so far. I have a lot of older books that don’t even have ISBN numbers to scan, but I can manually enter those and even upload photos of the covers. It’s a wonderful walk down memory lane, as I haven’t seen or thought about a lot of these books in years! And yes, I have Riverdale running in the background as I work;-)
Upcoming reads & reviews:
I’m hoping to get at least one review up this week, but to be honest I haven’t read much lately so I’m not sure. I’m reading Mothtown early, because I was invited by Angry Robot to blurb the book, but I probably won’t post a review until closer to the release date. I’ve dipped into Dead Eleven and I’m intrigued! I’m also reading Constellations of Ruin, a short story collection. And I’m determined to start Gods of the Wyrdwood very soon.
Other posts this week:
It will probably be another light week on the blog. Look for my usual Future Fiction post on Wednesday, and I’ll share my latest book haul on Saturday.
In case you missed:
My posts from last week:
Fractal Noise by Christopher Paolini – Review 4/5 stars
Night’s Edge by Liz Kerin – Review 4/5 stars
Your library project looks like a huge endeavor, so it’s a good thing that the journey down memory lane you mentioned helps in relieving some of the effort 🙂

It’s definitely a labor of love:-)
I was wondering how many book cases you owned Tammy!! Well at least you know what to do in your spare time LOL
I don’t have any spare time anymore, lol!
Once again, lovely bird photo! I haven’t been reading as much, either, but for other reasons–I think I just need a break or a genre change ha. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Thanks Celeste! Genre changes always work for me when I’m in a slump:-)
Yay, I love looking at home libraries! I use Bookshelf too! I really like it and it is helpful when I am out thrifting as I can check and see if I have a book before purchasing…lol.
Have a great week and happy reading!

I’m glad you’re also using Bookshelf, I’m pretty impressed with it so far:-)
I’ve got an ARC of Dead Eleven I think I’ll be reading this week too. Glad to hear it is intriguing so far! I love reorganizing my shelves. And I need more of them too, although I don’t really have room for any more, lol. I liked the first couple seasons of Riveerdale but then it just got weird for me and I see the commercials for it now and still think I probably would not be watching it. Hope you have a good week!

Riverdale really starts to go off the rails, but honestly, I still love it:-)
Riverdale! I need to get back to it! 🙂 But your library looks awesome.

Thanks Greg! Riverdale is always fun, lol.
That is a big project. I have to wind myself up to start that kind of thing. In fact I need to review my digital storage of audiobooks I have in Zip files for naming consistency. Are you doing the author last names of A, B, etc? I have all my bookshelves by genre. So gardening books are in one shelf. Knitting and sewing in another. Cookbooks have another huge bookshelf. Then there’s urban fantasy and so forth.

It took me six months to wind myself up! Yes, I am organizing by author’s last name. I love the idea of genre but it sort of overwhelms me with the amount of books I have.
Wow, quite a project! I’ve been using Libib for my home library organizing/tracking, but have to admit that I forgot about it for a while and haven’t updated it in at least six month. If those are just your B books, I can’t even begin to imagine how huge your library will be when you’re done!!
I used Libib last time but I wanted to try something different this time. Yes, I’m quite worried about where all the books are going to go, lol. Luckily my husband is OK with me adding bookcases wherever I need to:-)
It’s great to see all those books around the mostly empty shelves, just waiting to find their place. 🙂 I haven’t read much lately, either, except for audiobooks in the car. Been so busy… I’m still very behind reading and commenting on blog posts, so my apologies for missing several of yours this week. But on a positive note just returned from a morning hike with my father along the Appalachian Trail. He seemed to really enjoy it. All the best to you and your family, Tammy!
Sounds like the perfect Father’s Day with your Dad:-)
That’s a lot of B’s. Bet you’ll get a lot of enjoyment out of that project. And glad to see you’re still into Riverdale. I wonder when the last season comes out. At least I was able to catch up when I had covid.
I think the last season of Riverdale will be on Netflix after it’s finished on network TV. I may as well rewatch all the seasons so I’ll be ready:-)
Oh goodness, I am excited to see your library project when it is finished and I’ve heard good things about that app — if I ever move or rearrange my shelves again I will definitely give it a try to upgrade from my spreadsheet list.

Thanks Kal! So far I’m impressed with the app, plus I’ve gone too far to turn back now:-)
That looks like a pretty massive book collection, and I definitely envy all that shelf space just a little bit 😀
I’ve had Riverdale on my watchlist for ages but haven’t got around to starting it yet.

Riverdale is so fun and over the top, plus I’ve watched it so many times:-)
Have fun with your library project!

Oh wow! That is definitely going to be a long-term project, seeing how many Bs there are. And thank you for the pic of the little songbird – it looks lovely:). I hope this week is going smoothly for you, Tammy.
Thank you Sarah:-)
I envy your library so much but I love that you’re cataloguing now. It makes me want to do the same too now hahah Happy reading, Tammy!

The cataloguing makes the project go much slower, but I know I’ll be glad I did it:-)
Good luck on your project! I’ve given up on organizing my books, I ran out of shelf space years ago. Now all the new books just get stacked into a tower, and when I finishing reading them they go into a box, which then goes into storage once it’s filled. One day, when I have the time and new shelves, I will pull out all the boxes and do what you are doing now 🙂
It’s exhausting to think about organizing books, I know. Mine have been in boxes for six months, so I’m finally biting the bullet:-)
I love your library project. I’m sure it’s going to be amazing. Good luck!
