Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D
The weather is lovely here, and I love seeing signs of spring. It’s amazing how much more I appreciate them after going through a snowy winter. And because it’s nearly May, I thought I would mention that I will be participating in Imyril’s yearly fantasy event, Wyrd & Wonder. I’m a low key participant, as I’m not going to spend the entire month focusing on fantasy, but I do have some lists planned, as well as a handful of reviews. I may even throw in a book tag, who knows? Click the banner below if you want to learn more about the event! It’s Instagram friendly as well:-)
Upcoming reads & reviews:
Hard to believe we’re at the end of April already! I’m trying to squeeze in a few last reviews, including The Fairy Bargains of Prospect Hill (really enjoyed it!) and Pomegranates, which I haven’t even talked about yet. I read and loved Priya Sharma’s novella Ormeshadow a few years ago, and she asked if I’d like to read her latest. I’m loving it so far, and my review will up later this week. Next up: The Thick and the Lean and October Animals.
Other posts this week:
Look for three new books on Future Fiction on Wednesday, and Saturday I’ll post my April Wrap-Up.
In case you missed:
My posts from last week:
This Delicious Death by Kayla Cottingham – Review 4/5 stars
2023 Reading Challenges – 1st Quarter Check-In
Linghun by Ai Jiang – Review 4.5/5 stars
Look at that cormorant! I don’t think I’ve seen one perch in any kind of tree before. So far I think I’ve only seen them either in the water or perched on posts or piers in the water. Another nice one by Moses. And I’m looking forward to the upcoming reviews.
Thanks Todd! I thought it was an unusual photo of a cormorant, and very dramatic:-)
The Fairy Bargains of Prospect Hill sound neat. I will be looking forward to that review.
Have a great week.

Thanks, hope you have a good week too:-)
I know! It’s hard to believe that we only have one more week of April, the year is flying by! I feel behind on everything…lol. Love the bird pic!
Have a great week and happy reading!

Thanks Stormi, you too!
I love the sound of The Fairy Bargain of Prospect Hill. And the pic of that cormorant is absolutely stunning – how does he get a bird in mid-motion to look sooo sharp??? I echo your appreciation of the spring flowers – and I haven’t had any snow, but I’m just so very hungry for a bit of summer heat. We’ve had a chilly, wet Spring so far and the coming week looks to be more of the same. Oh well – let’s hope that means there’s no risk of a hosepipe ban later in the year… Have a great week, Tammy:)).
My husband has very expensive camera equipment that does just about everything, lol. Thank you Sarah! Have a good week:-)
Love the picture. It’s been nice here too although still kinda cool. A long winter definitely makes me appreciate spring more though, so true!

Thanks Greg. Enjoy the cool weather, summer is coming…
Spring is shy here, one day it’s snowing the other sunny and the day after we have thunder! Have fun with Wyrd and Wonder 😉 and I love the picture of the cormorant! Impressive really!

Spring can be so unpredictable, right?
Ohh, I have a copy of he Fairy Bargain of Prospect Hill so it’s good to hear that you liked it and I’ll look out for that review.
Lynn 😀
Enjoy!
Looking forward to hearing more about Pomegranate! This one hasn’t crossed my radar at all yet, but I’m intrigued. Wishing you a great week!
It was very interesting! I hope you have a good week too:-)
Yay for some spring. I’ll be interested to see your posts on Wyrd & Wonder. For me it would be hard to focus on the one genre especially with a huge release month as May is. I do like the June is Audiobook month but that can be with all the genres. I hope April finishes off well for you!

I won’t be strictly fantasy in May, but I would like to do some fantasy themed lists, those are always fun.
Ooh, can’t wait to get time to read your review of Womb City, it looks interesting! We’ve had some winter like days this weekend, I’m ready for the spring weather to be back. Hope you have a good week!

Oh, a new one by Nnedi Okorafor! Looking forward to your review on this
I’m excited, I always enjoy her books.
Spring at last. Winter seems to have lasted forever this time, although it was no where near as extreme as the snow you experienced.
Enjoy Wyrd and Wonder. I’m thinking of trying to read a bit of fantasy next month too, it’s been a while and I fancy a change.
I’m not sure how much fantasy I will read, but I know I have a few titles lined up:-)
The temps here are still fluctuating, 90 one day and 60s the next, but I am loving seeing the flowers start to bloom and the trees starting to bud. Hope you have a great week!
Thanks Suzanne, you too!
I’m very excited for spring this year as well! I’m looking forward to reading your review for The Fairy Bargains of Prospect Hill (which I’ll be doing right after this, haha) and Pomegranates looks cool! I hope you have a wonderful week!
Thanks Jordan! I hope your week is going well too.
I thought to myself as I looked at my calendar this morning that I can’t believe it’s April 24 and May is just around the corner! I would like to participate in Wryd & Wonder again this year, but I thought I would have more time to prepare 😛
Right there with you! May has really snuck up on me too.
Wyrd And Wonder graphics are always so beautiful! And I am so looking forward to it!
Me too, I do like blogging events:-)
