Ten Books with Animals on the Cover

I’m linking up with Top Ten Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Check out upcoming Top Ten themes on Jana’s blog!

Today is such a great prompt: Animals! I’ve chosen to showcase recent reads with some kind of animal on the cover. A couple of years ago I did a list with unusual animals, but today we’re talking non-fantasy animals. Take a look:

Weyward by Emelia Hart

A House With Good Bones by T. Kingfisher

The Hollow Kind by Andy Davidson

Such Sharp Teeth by Rachel Harrison

Living Memory by David Walton

Pteranodon Canyon by Tim Meyer

Ordinary Monsters by J.M. Miro

What Moves the Dead by T. Kingfisher

The Mother’s Wheel by Robin Kirk

The Girl Who Outgrew the World by Zoje Stage

I love that there are two books on this list with dinosaurs on the cover, lol. And two books by T. Kingfisher, who always has wonderful animals in her stories. Also, based on my ratings for all of these, I definitely have a soft spot for books with animals. Have you read any of these?

  1. Such sharp Teeth was so awesome! And Pteranodon Canyon! Yes. I think I saw that here or somewhere ages ago and it’s on my TBR. Moving that up right now!

And yes a TT of dinos would be FABULOUS.

I think you’re right. I’ve seen the other cover for Weyward, which is very pretty, but the US cover is my favorite:-)

  2. That cover for What Moves The Dead!! The one I had featured a hand with fungus, but this one with the hare is possibly even more creepy, especially the way the hares feature in the story. Great list 😀
