This week’s theme: Good vs. Evil
I’ve selected Fairy Tale by Stephen King for today’s prompt, which I haven’t yet read but hope to soon. King is so good at the “good vs. evil” trope, and I’m hoping this is a good example. There are already five covers on Goodreads, take a look:
U.S. edition 2022 | UK edition 2022
Romanian edition 2022 | Finnish edition 2022
German edition 2022
So not a bad cover in the bunch! I love all of these for various reasons. I love how the spiral motif appears on several covers, and of course I love that Radar the German Shephard is on some of the covers as well. It’s really tough to pick a favorite, but I’m going for the Romanian edition, simply because of the colors and the fact that Radar is a focal point in the art work.
I prefer the US edition cover, but I have the UK/Commonwealth cover edition. I’m impressed that they all reflect the story though, that doesn’t happen often.
I agree! I was surprised how similar they all are, even though they interpret the story a little differently.
I’m on hold for this at my library and I’ve got a long wait ahead of me.
I hope your wait isn’t too long:-)
I have this to read and am hoping to get to it in November around Thanksgiving break. If not, it might be January. I LOVE Radar and you picked my favorite cover as well.
I love that Radar is a senior dog (I’ve just barely started reading it). It makes me feel protective of him:-)
Without really knowing what it’s about I think I like the UK and Romanian editions best and probably the Romanian one a bit more than the UK. 🙂

Me too. I love how big the dog is in the Romanian cover:-)
I like the second one although ther spiral motif in the last two is kinda cool, makes you wonder what’s down there. 🙂

Exactly! I’m so curious.
I like the first one, the US edition. I’d not really looked closely at it before. I’d thought it was somehow a dragon with all the scales. Didn’t realize they were the stones of a large spiral staircase with a person and a dog on it. 🙂
Since I’ve barely started this, it could be a dragon! I’ll let you know if I ever finish:-)
I agree with your choice because you can see the characters are in a stairwell.
Yes, I’m so curious about that stairwell! I need to finish this.
Haha, I just finished “Uzumaki” so I cannot pick those “spirals.” I like the UK edition the most, I think… all are nice!

LOL. Yes, all of them are really well done, I think.
The first one is my favorite Tammy!
I do love that one. It’s the cover I own:-)
The spiral motif is really interesting. I guess I’ll have to pick my native Finnish cover. 😉
It’s so difficult to choose. I love your favourite and also the first cover. Like you said, not a bad cover in the bunch.
