I just realized it’s been a month since I participated in The Friday Face-Off, oops. This week has all sorts of possibilities, and my selection might not seem to fit the prompt, but it does. Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney is a fantastic mystery, but it’s also a really good coming-of-age story, since we get to delve back into Daisy’s odd childhood. So far I could only find three covers, but I’m sure many will follow.
Flatiron Books 2022 (U.S.) edition. I love this cover! The stormy sea, the secluded house of the cliff, and the dangerous rocks surrounding it evoke the setting perfectly. This is my favorite cover.
Polish edition 2022. This cover also does a great job with mood and ambiance. The daisies bordering the cover are also a nice touch. This is my second favorite cover!
Macmillan UK 2022 edition. Another cover that uses daisies in the design! This is my least favorite cover, although I do like it. But it’s missing the seaside cliff setting that is so important to the story, so for me it doesn’t work as well as the others.
They’re all nice but I think the Polish edition is my favorite
I really like that one as well.
Wow, they are all really good. I’m going with the Polish edition. Those ghostly flowers are a nice touch.

“Ghostly flowers” I like that:-)
I think the US cover is my favorite too.
It works best for the story, I think.
I think the Polish edition is my favorite
It’s so pretty, right?
My favorite is the 2nd, with the added artsy touch. I haven’t read the book, but it makes me wonder (once again) if the artist even read the book. No cliff, and these cute colorful flowers seem way too cheery, lol.

I think the cheery flowers are like a wink. You know there are murders in the story but the character’s name (Daisy) is so innocent.
I prefer that first cover. For me it seems to fit the title more, though I’ve no clue how well all that fits with the story. 🙂 It is a story I’d like to read, though.
The first cover really works. I know the others added daisies because of the character’s name, but there are so many horror elements, the daisies seem a little out of place.
All three are fabulous covers, but I like the Polish edition because the flowers look like skeletons, and that’s just plain weird (in a good way).

Oh I never noticed that! Good catch.
All three covers are actually really nice, but I think I like the second one and then the first one, then the third one. 🙂

This book will probably get a ton more covers eventually. I’m curious to see them!
Nice covers! I prefer the first one.
It’s so atmospheric:-)
Great choice, and I do like all these covers but the use of flowers and daisies for those is just perfect.
I do like the daisies!
I think my favorite is the first one, but the Polish one is beautiful too! It is hard to choose!
I missed this prompt having been away.
Great choice. I love the daisy cover but tbf I think the moody cliff setting of the first cover fits the story better. Such a great read.
