Happy September, everyone! Looking over my September TBR, I have a LOT of horror titles on my plate. I expect publishers are leading up to spooky October with all these releases, and I’m not complaining:-) Here are the books I hope to read this month:
Ghost Eaters by Clay McLeod Chapman is a story about a pill that makes you see ghosts. How cool is that?? I’ve had great fun with Clay’s other books, and I have no doubt this will be fun as well.
House of Hunger by Alexis Henderson. This vampire (?) story sounds delightfully bloody and creepy, I can’t wait.
Full Immersion by Gemma Amor sounds like it’s got some triggers, but I’m very excited to dive into this psychological horror story.
How about some Gothic horror? Let’s try Gallows Hill by Darcy Coates. A cursed vineyard and a crumbling mansion? Yes please:-)
One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig. More Gothic horror! I have a couple of YA reads this month and this is one of them. It’s getting good reviews so far, I’m excited!
Funeral Girl by Emma K. Ohland was a spur of the moment request on NetGalley (I really need to stop doing that, lol), but I have high hopes for this one. I’m totally in the mood for a good ghost story and this sounds fantastic.
Leech by Hiron Ennes. Oh wow, more Gothic goodness! Leech sounds so good, and seems to be a nice blend of genres.
Signal to Noise by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. This is a reprint of an earlier novel of Silvia’s, one I’ve always wanted to read. I’m glad now I’ll be “pushed” to read it:-)
I’m really looking forward to Always the First to Die by R.J. Jacobs, a fun sounding horror thriller with slasher elements.
And last but not least, Titan Books is re-releasing Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke by Eric LaRocca. This will be my third LaRocca and I usually approach their books with a mix of excitement and dread, lol.
Lots of books to look forward to here. I am very curious about House of Hunger. Vampires seem to be making a comeback!
Lynn 😀
I’m very happy about the vampire comeback too:-)
I want to read most all of these as well! Hope you enjoy them!
Thanks Lauren! I hope you can read some as well.
Hi,
Red Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke ….very good and disturbing.
Michael
I’ve already read a couple of Eric’s books, so I’m prepared for disturbing:-)
You have such a good lineup! I’m hoping to read Leech, Full Immersion, and Gallows Hill. And The Hollow Kind by Davidson. My TBR has gotten huge again. I’m not sure if I’ll get to any of them this month!

This is the worst (or should I say best?) time of the year for horror:-)
I’m looking forward to Ghost Eaters!! And I hadn’t heard about the reissue of Signal to Noise, but like you, maybe now I’ll finally read it!
I hope I have time to read Signal to Noise:-)
If this is what you got for September, I can’t imagine how scary/gory your October is going to be! 😀 Happy reading, Tammy! 😀
Ha ha yes I have more scary reads for October:-)
I was just thinking whether I might try to find some horror to read over the next couple months. Not sure if I’ll actually manage, but glad to see you have some lined up. 🙂
I have so many choices for you, Todd:-)
Another intense month, I hope you find all of these enjoyable. Great reading month to you!

Thanks Emma!
I can’t wait for all the spooky reads, and Leech sounds awesome.
It does, and I’ve heard good things about it:-)
Hope you get to them all! 🙂
Me too!
uh there’s a lot of horror there.

Sorry Anne!
One Dark Window and Leech are probably my priorities from this list!

I have high hopes for both:-)
There is a good number of gothic/ghost stories in your list, and given that the right season for them is fast approaching, I’d say you made a lot of right choices! 🙂

I’m starting spooky season early:-)
Love all those horror titles 😀 Looking forward to your thoughts on House of Hunger, it’s one I’ve seen mentioned a lot lately and sounds like something I might enjoy.
I’m about halfway through House of Hunger and it’s very atmospheric:-)
It seems like September would be a full month!, I hope you would enjoy them all!!
It does seem pretty busy, but so far I’m enjoying all my books:-)
And that’s the most important thing!!
“House of Hunger,” “Leech,” and “One Dark Window” are on my immediate TBR Stack!
I hope we both love all of them!
I’m looking forwards to your thoughts on Signal to Noise, I read it earlier this year and I have mixed feelings. It wasn’t bad but very different to what I was expecting!

While none of these are on my TBR at the moment, there are several I can’t wait to check out your reviews on. Hope you’re enjoying them!
