Buffy’s Corner 7/17/22 – Looking at the Week Ahead

Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D

Not much new this week, except my daughter is here and I’m having a great time with her! It might be a little light on the blog this week because I’m enjoying more family time than normal:-)

Upcoming reads & reviews:

A lovely, pinkish gallery of books this week! I should (finally) be finished with August Kitko and the Mechas from Space when this post goes up. This is a bizarre sci-fi book with killer mechas and larger-than-life characters, and it’s one of the strangest books I’ve ever read, lol. Look for my review this week! Up next is Just Like Home, The Daughter of Doctor Moreau and We Made It All Up. I still have a ton of July books after these, and obviously I won’t get to all of them this month. But I’m plugging away through the stack as best I can.

Other posts this week:

I’m hoping to come up with a Top Ten Tuesday idea for this week’s “freebie.” I have three cover reveals to share on Future Fiction; and The Friday Face-Off is “Off the TBR.” I haven’t done a Friday Face-Off in a while, so I’m glad to be jumping back in.

In case you missed:

My posts from last week:

A Prayer for the Crown-Shy by Becky Chambers – Review 4/5 stars

Black Mouth by Ronald Malfi – Review 5/5 stars

Future Fiction #185

The 2022 Mid Year Freak Out Book Tag

Read an Excerpt from The Last Storm by Tim Lebbon

  3. I am hearing so much about Mechas, and am so curious about it! I’m looking forward to the new Chambers… and of course Mike Chen doing vampires!

  4. How lovely to be spending time with your daughter – of course you will want to be with her rather than beavering away at your computer:). And thank you for the gorgeous pic of the moon – such beautiful colours… Have a wonderful week, Tammy:).

  5. I’m looking forward to your review of The Daughter of Doctor Moreau . Goss’ the Strange Case of the Alchemist’s Daughter also has a daughter of Moreau so I’m curious to see how they compare. The writing styles are most likely very different.
