June 2022 Reading Wrap Up

I had high hopes for June. I had a smallish TBR and I thought I could read all the things. But I ended the month having read and reviewed only seven books. I have to blame Ordinary Monsters in part because of its length, and in fact I suppose I could count it as two books, lol. I’m certainly not mad about reading it though, as it was one of my favorite books of the month. Here’s a breakdown of what I read, and you can read my reviews by clicking on the book titles:

Our Crooked Hearts by Melissa Albert

Ordinary Monsters by J.M. Miro

A Mirror Mended by Alix E. Harrow

Black Tide by K.C. Jones

Drunk on All Your Strange New Words by Eddie Robson

We Can Never Leave This Place by Eric LaRocca

Half a Soul by Olivia Atwater

What was your favorite book of June?

  1. I sympathize — I thought I was going to read a ton this month, and have fallen so far behind!! I just have not been focused, but I hope to get back on track in July. On the bright side, looks like you read a bunch of books you loved!!

  2. I feel like I always get ambitious in the summer because it feels like vacation time, but then I end up doing a bunch of things besides reading lol. Still a good list of books!

  3. Good reading month! I’m reading Black Tide now but had to put it aside and pick something else up because the fate of poor Jake the good dog is causing me anxiety. I read your review so I know what I’m in for but I’m 50% in and he’s still around so I feel the author is tormenting me more by making me more attached. I really want to read Our Crooked Hearts and picked up Ordinary Monsters from the library earlier this week.

I was so mad about Jake, otherwise that might have been a 5 star book for me:-( Our Crooked Hearts is worth reading!

  4. Seven books may not be what you’d hoped for in a month but it sounds great to me! 🙂 I very much like seeing how they lean towards the 4-5 star range, too. It’s always nice when we enjoy what we read, right? I think my favorite book of June was probably Elric of Melnibone: The Elric Saga Volume 1 by Michael Moorcock which contains 4 of the early Elric books/novellas. I really enjoyed getting to know that classic character for the first time.

Thanks Anne! It’s fun to see all my books together, even though I don’t read very fast, lol.

  5. That’s still an excellent month of reading and reviewing, Tammy! And it’s fortunate that your longest read turned out to be totally worth the time you put into it! 😀
