I had high hopes for June. I had a smallish TBR and I thought I could read all the things. But I ended the month having read and reviewed only seven books. I have to blame Ordinary Monsters in part because of its length, and in fact I suppose I could count it as two books, lol. I’m certainly not mad about reading it though, as it was one of my favorite books of the month. Here’s a breakdown of what I read, and you can read my reviews by clicking on the book titles:

I can’t wait to try Ordinary Monsters and A Mirror Mended. 🙂
Both very very good!
It’s not the quantity of books read that counts but the quality and 7 books is a really great number actually!

Yes! Quality over quantity is definitely important:-)
Oh my yes that’s a long book.
I realize I go slower with boring books, whatever their length. And I had one of these in June. But good old noir msytery The Bride Wore Black, by Cornell Woolrich was fabulous

Boring books are torture! LOL.
I really want to read Ordinary Monsters and hadn’t realized just how long it is! You had a great month, Tammy. I hope you find many stars in June too. ♥️
It’s long but it doesn’t feel long:-) Thanks Jennifer!
I sympathize — I thought I was going to read a ton this month, and have fallen so far behind!! I just have not been focused, but I hope to get back on track in July. On the bright side, looks like you read a bunch of books you loved!!
Yes, I’m pretty happy with what I read, if not with the quantity:-)
I feel like I always get ambitious in the summer because it feels like vacation time, but then I end up doing a bunch of things besides reading lol. Still a good list of books!
Ha ha that makes sense. But yes, it was a very good month:-)
I think you did great!!! Happy July!!

Thank you Freda!
Good reading month! I’m reading Black Tide now but had to put it aside and pick something else up because the fate of poor Jake the good dog is causing me anxiety. I read your review so I know what I’m in for but I’m 50% in and he’s still around so I feel the author is tormenting me more by making me more attached. I really want to read Our Crooked Hearts and picked up Ordinary Monsters from the library earlier this week.
I was so mad about Jake, otherwise that might have been a 5 star book for me:-( Our Crooked Hearts is worth reading!
Seven books may not be what you’d hoped for in a month but it sounds great to me! 🙂 I very much like seeing how they lean towards the 4-5 star range, too. It’s always nice when we enjoy what we read, right? I think my favorite book of June was probably Elric of Melnibone: The Elric Saga Volume 1 by Michael Moorcock which contains 4 of the early Elric books/novellas. I really enjoyed getting to know that classic character for the first time.
I agree, it’s nice to have an overall positive reading month:-)
Oh yeah, thick books totally count as two! My favorite June book was a book of poetry called Life & Soul by Harmony Kent.:-)

I’m glad we agree:-)
I have to say I really enjoy these monthly wrap-ups.

Thanks Anne! It’s fun to see all my books together, even though I don’t read very fast, lol.
All those books sound good. I’m interested in Mirror Mended.
Have a great July reading month.

Thanks for visiting!
A Mirror Mended was one of my favorites. I ended up binging both books in that series after reading your review. I really hope we get more books set in that world.
Me too, I feel like we will:-)
I had a book that was 100o pages long! It was a bunch of novellas, but still! So I get what you were dealing with! Lots of good books it looks like though!

Wow that’s long!
I also had high hopes for June, haha! Ordinary Monsters is definitely a beast and should really count as two books, I agree, haha. Looks like a great month of books, though! I’m excited to check out Our Crooked Hearts and We Can Never Leave this Place.

Definitely read Our Crooked Hearts, so good!
You did great! 🙂
Thanks!
I think mine was The Change by Kirsten Miller. And I am listening to Half a Soul today 😉
I’m definitely going to buy a copy of The Change:-)
That’s still an excellent month of reading and reviewing, Tammy! And it’s fortunate that your longest read turned out to be totally worth the time you put into it! 😀
I’m relieved as well, it’s not good when you aren’t enjoying a long book…
That’s a great reading month if you ask me. And I defo want to read Ordinary Monsters.
Lynn 😀
Yes, read it!
I couldn’t get to Our Crooked Hearts in June but I’m definitely pushing it up the priority list for July. Everyone seems to love it!
Yep, you can count the chunky book as two books! Definitely!!
