This week’s theme: Urban fantasy
I was trying to find an urban fantasy book that I’ve read recently, and I just couldn’t find one! I guess it’s been a while…So I went back pre-blogging and chose City of Bones by Cassandra Clare, the first in a series I loved back then. Of course there are a ton of covers, and this is just a small sample, take a look:
2007 U.S. hardcover | 2015 U.S. paperback | 2010 Italian edition
2008 German edition | 2007 Walker Books | 2015 Walker Books
2017 10th Anniversary edition | 2010 Bulgarian edition | 2013 Czech edition
I never really cared for the original U.S. edition, but luckily there are some really good covers! For me, it’s a toss up between the German and the Bulgarian editions:
I like the Bulgarian edition, too. The juxtaposed colors pop.

I do love that German edition! The 10th anniversary edition is also lovely. I. never read this series, but always wonder if I missed out reading it!
Hmmmm, I don’t know. None of these are really working for me, but I think I’d pick the Czech edition. Some of the other covers lead me to believe this might not be a series for me. 🙂
I have the 2007 U.S. hardcover which I don’t really love but I also have the 10th Anniversary edition which I do love. 😀

Oooh I really like the 2010 Italian edition one. Its mysterious and bad-a$$ all in one

I’ve always had a strange affection for that first cover. The original books I bought did not have that cover – more the Walker Books cover – which I wasn’t fond of.
