Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D
This was such a dramatic week in Olympic figure skating! Did you see it? I’ve been following figure skating for years, and I’ve seen all the dramatic moments. But this year topped it all. The ladies free skate was so emotional and sad, yet I loved seeing Kaori Sakamoto from Japan take home the bronze, she was so happy and excited. And wow the pairs free skate! The scores were so close. I won’t do a recap, but I’m sure you can watch replays on YouTube.
Upcoming reviews & reads:
February is almost over, and I’m trying to wrap my head around that. Meanwhile, I’m joining two blog tours this week and I’ll be posting reviews for both. Monday is my stop on the Stars and Bones blog tour, and I’ll also be running a giveaway of the book. The worldbuilding is outstanding, and I had a lot of fun reading this. Thursday is my stop on the Bluebird tour, which I’m currently reading and loving! I’ve already fallen in love with Rig, the main character, and Pierlot’s writing is so good. I should finish up Bluebird by Monday, and after that I’m squeezing in The Paradox Hotel. Then it’s time to turn my attention to March, and The Kaiju Preservation Society is first up on the pile!
Other posts:
I have an interesting bunch of books to share Wednesday on Future Fiction, don’t miss it! And The Friday-Face-Off is “made for each other.” Hmm, I’m going to have to think about that one.
In case you missed:
Here are my posts from last week:
The Friday Face-Off: Hate to Love Trope
Sundial by Catriona Ward – Review 4/5 stars
Sisters of the Forsaken Stars by Lina Rather – Review 4/5 stars
I like how the snake bird is sunlit yet has an overcast sky for its background. Gorgeous!

Thanks, I just love this photo too!
Stars and Bones and Buffy on tour! I love it. I really like the cover of that book and I look forward to your review. And what a view of an anhinga. I love the patterns in the wings and what a hairdo. One day I hope to see one of these birds.
I love the anhinga too, it looks like it’s dressed up for a fancy night on the town:-)
Looking forward to your thoughts on The Kaiju Preservation Society! I’ll probably pick up the audiobook once it’s released 🙂

I’m sure the audio book is going to be a lot of fun:-)
I’m working to get caught up on your reviews and I’m finally getting more to where I want! And of course you keep reading more books I need to see. lol I haven’t really been watching the Olympics, not much of a sports on tv fan. Hope you have a good week!

Thanks Lisa!
I’m so looking forward to Kaiju!! Hope you enjoy!
Me too, I hope we both love it:-)
I love the Olympics but will be glad to get back to normal. The pairs skating was SO close with so many talented pairs. I was thrilled for Kaori, the Japanese woman. Happy reading!
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
I was thrilled for Kaori too! She was so happy:-)
I’ve had trouble focusing lately so I had to throw out my to-read list for the rest of the month and mix it up a bit. Bluebird and Stars & Bones had been on there, but now I’m just going to be veerrry interested in your reviews before I get to them;)
What the heck are you supposed to do with “made for each other”?
Maybe I can convince you to read them? But hey, it’s actually great to take a break from lists and read whatever you want:-)
I haven’t read anything by Scalzi yet, so I’m eager to read your review

His books are a lot of fun, I can’t wait:-)
I look forward to seeing your post about Stars and Bones because as much as I loved the Worldbuilding I ended up DNFing it partway through and I’m keen for other opinions! I keep hearing amazing things about Bluebird and I really need to pick it up!
I’m very curious about The Kaiju Preservation Society, and I’ve been really curious about Bluebird ever since you mentioned it previously. I need to play catch up on blog posts from last week (life loves to get crazy, doesn’t it?), and I think I missed your review for Sundial. I’ll have to go check it out because I’m just finishing it up and am curious about your thoughts! I hope you have a great week. 🙂

Can you believe I didn’t watch ANY skating? I focused so much on skiing and a few other events and missed all the skating. Ugh. 🙂
Paradox is one I’m super interested in!

Never watch the Olympics but I have heard about the drama on the news. 🙂
It’s hard to believe February is nearly over. Feels like we just finished up with Christmas and we’re almost to spring already, lol. Looking forward to your reviews this week. Sounds like you’ve got two good ones. 🙂
