Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D
I hope everyone had a good week! My hubby is back from his trip to Costa Rica, and he had a lot of fun. Of course, he shot thousands of photos of (mostly) birds and other animals, and I thought I’d direct those of you who are interested to his new wildlife website, where he’s also started a blog and will be blogging periodically about his photographic adventures. Check it out here! As soon as I give him a crash course in how to create a WordPress blog post, he’ll be posting about his trip:-)
Upcoming reads and reviews:
So I’ve been struggling a bit with my reading lately. I have a bunch of January review books still to read, but I feel like starting on some February books, so let’s just say I’m doing some mood reading at the moment! I’ve just finished Hunt the Stars, which was pretty good, although I didn’t enjoy it quite as much as her last series. It’s a February release, but I may post an early review this week, we’ll see. I’d like to dive into some highly anticipated books next, Dead Silence and The Violence, both February books as well. Goliath is a January release that comes out next week, so I’m hoping to read it soonish.
Other posts this week:
Look for a review or two later this week (maybe), but in the meantime, tomorrow I’m going to post my Reading Goals & Challenges for 2022. Tuesday I’m joining in Top Ten Tuesday for a look at the 2021 books I meant to read but didn’t get to. Wednesday is Future Fiction, so check back for three new upcoming releases! And the Friday Face-Off is “Sci-fi before 1975.”
In case you missed:
My posts from last week:

Deep Dive by Ron Walters – Review 4/5 stars
Dead Silence is a book I’m very, very curious about so I will be on the lookout for your review!
And that bird is beautiful: its shade of blue is nothing short of gorgeous 🙂

All the birds in Costa Rica are gorgeous bright colors, it’s pretty amazing!
I went to your husband’s blog Tammy but I dind’t see where to post comments so I hope indeed that he’ll come to wordpress. He made me laugh with his “sprinting like Carl Lewis”. Anyway, the pictures are absolutely stunning! And I hope your reading week will be better now! Have a great Sunday!
I’m helping him get started, and I will work with him to add in the comment option, as well as a way to subscribe. It’s all new to him and he’s got the block editor, which I don’t use so I’m in the dark a little. Hope you had a great day too, Sophie!
Mood reading is okay. You’ll get back to your planned reads soon enough.:-) Your hubby’s website is BEAUTIFUL, but I wish it had a way to subscribe.
I told him he needs to add a subscription option, and also allow people to leave comments. I’m sure those two things will be added, and I’ll let you know:-)
It looks like a really interesting week is waiting for us!! All the new posts you mentioned soubd great!!
I had fun putting them together. We shall see…
Look how cute that bird is, wow. Glad he had a wonderful trip.

Isn’t he cute? Thanks Jennifer:-)
HIs photos are amazing. I’ve been mood reading but I’m a week ahead and have read all but one of my January ARCs. My next read may be Hunt the Stars but I’m debating about waiting for the audio. I hope you enjoy some great books this week.
Thanks Anne. I feel like Hunt the Stars will be really good in audio.
The bird is stunning, the blue is so vivid!
I am looking forward to your thoughts on Goliath, I finally caved and requested a copy yesterday (I may have been too late, I don’t know if my request is going to be accepted) but I really want to read it soon! 🙂

I read the first few chapters of Goliath and I’m enjoying it so far! It sort of reminds me of Riot Baby, the way it’s structured.
I’m looking forward to reading your final thoughts on Violence. And I will definitely check out your husband’s website – his photos are just gorgeous.
Lynn 😀
Thanks Lynn! I’m glad I picked up The Violence on a whim. Release date be damned!
Love that photo! Is he on Instagram too? I can’t remember if I asked before.
He doesn’t really like Instagram, which is weird, right? He is on Facebook, maybe next week I’ll leave that link, because he talks a lot about his photography there.
Looking forward to your review of Dead Silence – I have my eyes on it.
That bird pic is stunning!
Thanks Roberta!
My reading is kind of blah right now and it’s all because my most anticipated read is not as good as I hoped! 🙁 Hope your reading gets better and mood reading is a good way to fix that!
Oh shoot, I hate when that happens. To be honest, that just happened to me with a book I couldn’t wait to read. It’s disappointing…
I’m glad your husband is back from Costa Rica–especially so I can go check out some of his photos. The red-legged honeycreeper is such an amazing color. My brother went to Costa Rica a few years ago to mostly photograph dragonflies. (He studies dragonflies.) He said it was amazing.
I hope you have a good reading week, Tammy!
Isn’t that blue amazing? That’s cool about your brother. I’m not sure if my husband saw dragonflies or not, but I wouldn’t be surprised:-) Have a good week, Jan!
Glad to hear your husband’s back with lots of photos and stories to tell. I look forward to checking out his blog. That Honeycreeper has a very human look of being curious. I hope your mood reads are successful at picking out ones you find entertaining. Keeping my fingers crossed for Dead Silence.
I have figured out mood reading can be great! And I’m keeping my fingers crossed as well:-)
Your husband’s blog looks great! Love hearing about the parrots. Photography is so amazing and especially when one can capture wildlife well.
That Barnes book I have SUCH high hopes for.

Thanks Greg! Yeah, I have high hopes for it too, fingers crossed:-)
I hope you can catch up with your reading.
Looking forward to your husband’s website: I’m a birder, and his pictures are fabulous.
Will see you on the blogosphere this week, top ten and Friday Face-Off.

That’s so cool that you are a birder. He’s learned so much in the last year since he started photographing them.
As usual the bird picture is beautiful! I need to read something by Onyebuchi at some point. I’ve saved several emails of your reviews recently so that I can go read them, just haven’t had time! Hoping this week to get some commenting on blogs done. Hope you have a better week with reading!

I am glad your husband had a nice time in Costa Rica. I bet his photos are stunning! I look forward to hearing about his trip. I am really curious about Dead Silence. I hope you enjoy your reading this week and have a great week!
Thanks Wendy, you too!
I’m in a really poor mood these days for reading as well, and feels like I haven’t gotten much January reads in. February’s list is already making me panic!
I got so distracted looking at your hubby’s gorgeous photos on his website that I almost forgot to come back here and comment, lol.
I just got an ARC of Dead Silence and I’m SO excited, hoping to get to it soon as well! I love The Violence, I hope you do too! I love that bird, your husband’s photography is as amazing as ever. 🙂
