This week’s theme: Catnip cover
This week we are prompted to highlight a cover with elements that are “catnip” to us, elements that make you gravitate towards a book just because of the cover. I decided to showcase a bunch of covers I love with elements from the natural world. For some reason, I’m drawn to covers with plants, trees, leaves, flowers, fruit, etc, especially when they are colorful. Here is a selection of covers that I love!

Very cool collection! This is a tough prompt. I know what I like when I see it but I don’t know that I’ve ever stopped to consider what that is. I often like minimalist covers with simple designs but something interesting that stands out. Other times I like those incredible paintings of a fantasy or science fiction setting that just suck you in. Beautiful color contrast can be another (I’m looking at Sisters of the Forsaken Stars in the bar to the right and smiling). Anywhere I look I’m likely to find covers I enjoy, especially around here. 🙂

Your catnip cover choices are beautiful. My catnip is artsy rather than cutesy and bold title text.

Mine are usually character art like Charlie Bowater’s
Oh yes, this is definitely another of my ‘auto pick up’ style of covers. Anything with flowers and vines or scrolling edges and little snippets of things from the book itself.
