Buffy’s Corner 11/7/21 – Looking at the Week Ahead

Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D

Did everyone remember to turn back your clocks? What are you going to do with your extra hour today?? I will probably be reading or writing a review, lol.

SciFiMonth is in full swing, and I’m already having a blast and getting lots of interaction on my posts. I’ve discovered a few new blogs as well, which is one of the fun things about an event like this.

Upcoming reviews:

Last week I was only able to post one review, mostly because I had other posts on my normal review days. But this week watch for three reviews, as I try to catch up with my SciFiMonth pile. Tomorrow is my review for Nightwatch on the Hinterlands, which was oh so good. Later in the week I should have reviews up for both Noor and Elder Race, wish me luck!

Upcoming reads:

I’m just listing two books this week, so I don’t overwhelm myself. Swashbucklers comes out Tuesday, so this will be my next read, and You Sexy Thing releases next week, and I’m trying for a release day review.

Other posts:

This Tuesday don’t miss 10 Young Adult Science Fiction Books to Read in 2022! Wednesday’s Future Fiction is a whole new crop of SF upcoming releases, The Friday Face-Off is “Star in the title,” and I’ll be sharing my latest book haul on Saturday in Over-Booked.

In case you missed:

  1. I don’t feel like I gained an hour when it gets dark earlier and I lost outside light. 🙁 I think I am in the minority about hating this time change and would rather leave it with the spring forward time.

I honestly agree with you. If we could just quit turning the clocks at all and leave everything on daylight savings time, I think everyone would be happy.

  2. I’m very curious about each of the upcoming reviews. I’ve been wanting to try more by Okorafor since reading Lagoon, but still haven’t. And common yellowthroats are one of my favorite warblers in this area. We call them masked bandits. 🙂

  3. I don’t love the time change because it gets dark earlier. I’d rather have it dark longer in the morning so I can sleep in. lol I’m looking forward to all your scifi posts to load up my tbr in a genre I enjoy but don’t always read as often. And I really enjoy scifi. Good luck with the posts – I’m feeling behind again myself.

I don’t like it getting dark early either. I don’t like driving in the dark and it’s dark after work now.

  4. Looking forward to all of your upcoming reviews! Ugh, the time change. I was up at 7 am today, and by 9 had already read the paper, checked my email, had my morning coffee… and still have the whole day ahead of me. As you said, extra reading time! I’m not looking forward to it getting dark by late afternoon. Have a great week!

It was a LONG day yesterday, lol. I made dinner an hour early and then I was like “what do I do now?” I was barely able to read in bed, I was so tired.

  5. I’m not a fan of the time change at all. I hate that it’s dark by the time I finish working. Glad to hear sci fi month is going well. I requested an ARC of Curfew after your Wednesday post and was thrilled to get approved for it today. 🙂
