Looking Back: September Wrap Up

I have never done a wrap-up post before, but I decided why not? I usually roll my wrap up and my What’s On My Plate posts together into one, but it takes so long to put that post together, I figured I would make it easier by splitting it up.

This wrap-up is basically a recap of the reviews I posted in September, which are broken down by rating, so you can see my favorite books of the month. I had a weird reading month, for some reason. I had a hard time focusing so I was easily distracted and didn’t read as much as I wanted to. But I did get eight reviews up so I’ll count that as a win. My absolute favorite book of September? The Bone Ship’s Wake! Here are the books I read and reviewed this month (click on the links to read my reviews):

The Bone Ship’s Wake by R.J. Barker

Light Chaser by Peter F. Hamilton & Gareth L. Powell

The Body Scout by Lincoln Michel

My Heart is a Chainsaw by Stephen Graham Jones

Human Tenderloin by Craig Wallwork

Scales and Sensibility by Stephanie Burgis

Mastermind by Andrew Mayne

The Offset by Calder Szewczak

How was your September reading? Check back tomorrow to see what I’m reading in October:-D

If eight is a down month for you you can fill in for me anytime

I’m actually a little surprised that I haven’t read a single one of these. But since I can’t add all of these to my TBR, if you could give me your Top 2? I’m assuming #1 is the Bone Ships Wake.

Top 2 are Bone Ships Wake and Light Chaser:-) I usually rate my monthly reads in order of how much I enjoyed them.

I want to start the R.J. Barker books! He was “In Conversation” with Cameron Johnston for the launch of The Maleficent Seven and was so interesting. My reading in September was next-to-non-existent 🙁 I can either fly through non-work reading or get nothing done. Only in the last week have I had a chance, and it was non-fiction! And niche, a book on the history of gaelic football managers! Love this wrap-up, Tammy, thanks for sharing!

Thank you for visiting and commenting, Caroline! I hope you get to read Barker’s books. He’s fantastic:-)

  3. I’d count 8 reviews as a win too. 🙂 I’m baffled by my September reading. I actually read 17 which is fantastic for me, but somehow I’m more behind in my ARC reading than I’ve ever been before. Combo of too many ARCS and my inner mood reader wanting to read older books I already owned instead, lol.

  4. Despite it being a weird reading month, based on your ratings it appears to have been a good one. Your average rating is a bit higher than mine for the month. Like you I really enjoyed The Body Scout (one of the rare times we both read the same book in a month), and I can’t wait to try Mastermind (well, I will wait… until I’ve caught up on a few more of his books first) and The Bone Ships series.

  5. I have managed to read more this month but I need to catch up with reviews and I’m also trying to catch up with review books that I’ve got behind with. Fortunately I’ve requested very few books of late so November and December should hopefully help me to get back on track. You seem to have had a great reading month.
    Lynn 😀

I’m the same, very few November/December review books, which is good because there is so much to catch up with:-)

I think my book count was slightly better in September compared to August, but definitely still not where I want to be 😀
