I’m linking up with Top Ten Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Check out upcoming Top Ten themes on Jana’s blog!
It’s not quite October yet, but I’m already feeling the creepy vibes of the season. So for today’s “Freebie” Top Ten list, I thought I’d do a cover theme and find books with bones on the cover. These are a mix of “read” and “want to read,” and also a mix of adult and YA. I especially love the first four! Take a look:
This seems very on brand! I love the first 4 too, though it’s weird they don’t really give away much. Sundial has lovely colors, and Unreconciled looks disturbing and creepy as hell I’d never read it
Of course the Donovan books’ covers are the one that win the bones contest for sheer quantity! 😀

I’d add ‘The Resurrectionist: The Lost Work of Dr. Spencer Black’ – part art book and part immersive story pieced together through letters and news articles in a biography style. It’s full of mythological anatomy drawings – great for a quick flick through or a satisfyingly creepy read!

Good list! I’d add Arterial Bloom, an anthology edited by Mercedes Yardley, and This Morbid Life, a memoir in essays by Loren Rhoads.

Lemme add The Bone Witch trilogy by Rin Chupeco to this list. ☠️

That is quite an interesting list, some creepier than others. Can’t think of anything to add off the top of my head. I love the cover for That Dark Infinity.
I didn’t realize there were so many books with bones on their covers. These trends are so interesting. 🙂

You simply cannot go wrong with bones on a cover!
My favorite is That Dark Infinity!
Love this topic! And yes I am totally getting into the October vibe already! Sundial is a trip.

I’m really looking forward to reading Outpost and That Dark Infinity. Happy reading!
Some very cool covers!
Human Tenderloin is SUCH a spooky cover! And the title makes me so curious.
I have been loving all the covers like this lately. The top two are my favorite, although the Gear one at the bottom is actually on my TBR too.
