Five Star Predictions for the First Half of 2021 – How I Did

Back in January (which feels like a really long time ago!) I predicted ten books that I thought would be five star reads, and today I’m going to show you how that went. This was actually a lot of fun, and even though all the books weren’t quite five star reads for me, I’m very happy to report that I read all ten books. Half of them ended up being five star reads, and the other half received four and a half stars, and I’m pretty happy about that overall!

My Five Star Predictions, January – June:

The Album of Dr. Moreau by Daryl Gregory | Day Zero by C. Robert Cargill | The Fall of Koli by M.R. Carey | The Ladies of the Secret Circus by Constance Sayers | Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir

The Blacktongue Thief by Christopher Buehlman | The Echo Wife by Sarah Gailey | Titan Song by Dan Stout | Whisper Down the Lane by Clay McLeod Chapman | Winter’s Orbit by Everina Maxwell

Stop by next Tuesday to see my Five Star Predictions for the Second Half of 2021!

  1. Nicely done, both in reading them all and in predicting just how much you’d enjoy them. Now the pressure’s on for the second half. 🙂

Ooh the second half of the year has even more amazing books coming out. I’m not too worried;-)

I agree, I wasn’t keeping track or anything until I decided to do a wrap up post, and I am happy that I read them all:-)

I was pretty happy with this. And I’m surprised how many 5 and 4.5 star books I’ve read….

  2. January sure does seem like an eternity ago, right? I’m almost done with Project Hail Mary, and I can see why you gave it five stars! I’m also looking forward to reading Whispers Down the Lane, and four and a half stars is just as good! Looking forward to picking that one up.

  3. Okay that is impressive! Not only that you managed to read them ALL (which is impressive in its own right!) but they all managed to be really good! Happy for you! Also, I loved Project Hail Mary as well, and Echo Wife was really good too! I want to read Day Zero, and the Koli books, so happy to see them here too!
