The Friday Face-Off: Animal Closeup/Nose Boop

The Friday Face-Off was created by Books by Proxy, where each week bloggers can showcase books with covers centered around a weekly theme. You can visit Lynn’s Books for a list of upcoming themes. Join in the fun each Friday by finding a book whose cover is based on the theme!

This week’s theme: The nose boop

It is much harder to find a cover of an animal close-up than you think, at least for me! I finally decided to go with an old favorite, Stephen King’s Cujo, which has lots of scary close ups of King’s killer dog. Take a look at some of my favorite covers:

UK paperback 1982 | Signet Books paperback 2002 | UK paperback 2011

Turkish edition 2015 | Bulgarian edition 1993 | German edition 1987

Spanish edition 2000 | Spanish edition 2012 | Polish edition 2008

Spanish edition 1982 | Polish edition 2014 | Russian edition 2015

Favorites:

The UK paperback reminds me of the copy I own, and I think that’s why I like it. Plus it’s got that old school Stephen King font that really takes me back. I also love the Polish edition for its simplicity and very scary dog, although the title is way too small!

Which cover do you like?

  1. Yeah, the 1982 UK cover also reminds me of the paperback I read. I wonder if I still have it around somewhere… But I think my favorite of this grouping is the 2011 UK cover. This brings back memories. 🙂

  2. Goodness, I’m going to have nightmares after looking at these covers! The German edition is too cute, and an exception. I think my favorite is the Russian one, since it is more subtle and not all that horrifying~

  3. The UK edition really stood out to me and I also like the Russian version which is a great boop.
