Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D
Happy Easter, everyone! I hope everyone has a fantastic day, however you choose to celebrate it (or not). I’m personally going to spend as much time reading as I can, and I might hide some dog treats in the yard so the dogs can celebrate too, lol. Thursday I get my first vaccination, so that’s something to look forward to! Here’s what’s happening on the blog this week:
Upcoming reviews:
April is starting out with a bang! And hopefully will continue that way. My review of Titan Song by Dan Stout will be up tomorrow, and watch out for a review of Whisper Down the Lane by Clay McCloud Chapman on Thursday. I love being back in Dan Stout’s gritty, fascinating world, and Titan Song was an awesome addition to the series. Whisper Down the Lane was super creepy and I’m still processing it!
Upcoming reads:
I’m just adding two new books for the coming week. First up is Composite Creatures by Caroline Hardaker, which I’ll be reviewing for the blog tour next week. After that, I’m excited to jump into Mina and the Undead by Amy McCaw, which just came out this past week in the UK. I’ve heard nothing but amazing things and I’m very excited to read it!
The usual memes…
Stop by Wednesday to see the new SFF books I’ll be featuring on Future Fiction; I’m excited to be on the Birds of Paradise blog tour and I’ll be featuring an excerpt, also on Wednesday. The Friday Face-Off is “graphic/cartoonish,” and I’ll have a book haul post up on Saturday.
In case you missed:
Last week’s posts, in case you missed any:

The pic is just lovely!! And I am looking forward to your reviews!! Happy Sunday!!
Happy Sunday, Susy!
Happy Easter, Tammy! I don’t celebrate but I plan on getting some good reading done! Hehe! Also, I’m super excited to see your review of WHISPER DOWN THE LANE! It’s on my Goodreads TBR and I’ve heard good things about it!
Hope you have a great week!

I really enjoyed it. I tore through it on Saturday and I’ll have a review up later this week:-)
I’m just starting in on Titan Song myself. I can’t wait to see your review!
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it!
Happy Easter! I wish I’d thought to hide treats in the yard on Easter for my dog!!! (She died a long time ago). But she wasn’t the most clever dog so I’m not sure she would look for the treats. LOL
Happy Easter, Jinjer!
Okay so I have to ask…does your husband just sit/stand and wait for a cool pic to happen or does he just get lucky…lol. I would never have my camera with me when something cool happens here. 🙂
Have a great week!
Stormi
He actually spends a lot of time just standing still and waiting for the right photo. But I think he gets lucky sometimes. He does have a knack for it, I have to say. He’s started calling himself the “bird whisperer.” lol.
I hope both you and your dogs enjoy some treats!
Wishing you a great reading week
Thanks Shelleyrae, you too:-)
Hiding treats for the dog is a good idea! And once more I am in love with your husband’s photo! What is in that peel? Just orange peel or did you put seed in it? And last but not least, that’s great news about your vaccination!
That’s just an orange that fell off our orange tree, and this little guy just happened to find it. We don’t even eat the oranges, we just leave them for the birds, rats and possums, lol.
Happy Easter, Tammy! Glad to hear you’re getting your first shot. My first is on Tuesday. Progress! 🙂
I hope we both have good experiences this week with the vaccine:-)
Happy Easter!!! 🙂
I love the cover for Composite Creatures: it looks so wonderfully *ominous* and it’s balanced by the picture of the finch with the orange: lovely, indeed 🙂

Thanks Maddalena! I agree, that cover for Composite Creatures is making me very curious…
I’m so glad you’re getting your first vaccination. Hope you won’t have too many side effects. Looking forward to reading your review of Whisper Down the Lane, since you say it’s creepy.

I’m a little nervous about the vaccine, but a lot of people aren’t having any side effects so I guess it could go either way.
That’s so funny! Our yard is big enough I wonder if Lulu would find treats if we hid them. I’m glad to hear you also loved Titan Song. And Yay for getting vaccinated.

I really had fun with Titan Shade. I hope there will be more books in the series:-)
Congrats on your first dose!
It feels a little unreal!
I passed on Composite Creatures because of too much on my plate, but I am curious to hear what you make of it!
Me too, I think it falls under the “weird” category so we’ll see…
That photo is outstanding – even more so given that you have a dog who must spend a fair amount of time in your garden:). And good luck with the vaccination on Thursday – some folks have a reaction and others don’t. But at least you will start to get some covid protection, so that’s great:)). I hope the coming week is a good one – as ever, you have an interesting and varied diet of books to get through!
I’m a little nervous about the vaccine, but mostly grateful and excited:-)
I hope you had a nice Easter, Tammy! We had nice weather so I spent a lot of my day outside reading. Yay for getting your first shot this week! I hope all goes smoothly with that. Love this week’s photo too. The lighting is perfect!
Thanks Suzanne! I love that photo too:-)
I should try hiding cat treats from the cats and see who finds them. LOL Congratulations on getting your first vaccine today. I hope it went well. My husband gets his first dose tomorrow. I am glad your April got off to a good start. I hope you enjoy your reading and have a great rest of the week!
I just love your husband’s pictures. He’s so talented. I’ve put a bird bath in my garden and the birds are loving it – but even so,I couldn’t ever manage to take such great shots.
Lynn 😀
