Welcome to Over-Booked, where I share my latest and greatest book acquisitions! I’m linking up with Stacking the Shelves over at Tynga’s Reviews.
Lots of upcoming spring and summer releases in my haul this week, and I’m excited for all of them! Here’s my haul from the last couple of weeks:\
Physical review copies:
Huge thanks to Orbit/Redhook for this beautiful finished copy of The Ladies of the Secret Circus by Constance Sayers. I am in the middle of this and loving it so far. Look for a review next week!
And more huge thanks to Tor for a finished copy of The Echo Wife by Sarah Gailey! I’m so happy to have this, since I really loved this book. Check out my review if you missed it:-D
And even bigger thanks to Orbit for an ARC of The Shadow of the Gods by John Gwynne. I know lots of bloggers have already read and reviewed this, unfortunately I’ve got some books I need to read first. But I’m super excited, this will be my first John Gwynne.
And with thanks to Tor.com, an ARC of Hard Reboot by Django Wexler arrived, and just check out that cover! This looks like a fun one:-)
Thank you Tor Teen for this beautiful finished hardcover of The Stolen Kingdom by Jillian Boehme. I’m a little picky these days when it comes to YA but I think this sounds good.
I’m on the blog tour for All the Murmuring Bones by A.G. Slatter in a couple of weeks, and thanks to Titan Books for a review copy. I’ve been hearing rave reviews for this, I can’t wait!
Finally on the physical pile, this surprise arrived from 47North and I’m intrigued! Bacchanal by Veronica Henry takes place in a magical circus, and I’m always up for a book like that. Plus this cover is pretty cool.
Digital review copies:
The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix. I’m so happy I was approved for this, I am beyond excited! I’ve loved all of Hendrix’s books and I can hardly wait to dive in.
I featured Rabbits by Terry Miles in a Future Fiction not too long ago, and so I was delighted to be offered a review copy. Nicholas Eames gave this five stars and that’s good enough for me:-D
Mastermind by Andrew Mayne. I was so surprised when I found out that Mayne is writing a spin-off of his Naturalist series, combining Dr. Theo Cray and a main character from another series, Jessica Blackwood. This sounds like a ton of fun!
The Dispatcher: Murder by Other Means by John Scalzi. This is a sequel to The Dispatcher, which I really enjoyed.
His Own Devices by Douglas Wynne. This is a March release that I didn’t add to my March TBR, simply because I might have to push it to April. But it sounds so good!
Bayou Whispers by R. B. Good is a novella set in New Orleans that sounds really good. It’s not up on Goodreads yet, so I’ll link up to the publisher’s website.
Looks like you have some exciting ones there! Enjoy. 🙂
Thanks Ashleigh!
I can’t wait to read Hendrix’s new release! Happy reading, Tammy.
Thanks Lauren, hope we both love it!
I look forward to the arrival of the ebook for Murder by Other Means, because I enjoyed The Dispatcher very much: so far only the audio version is available, and no matter how I would enjoy hearing Zachary Quinto narrate the story, I still prefer the book form. Hopefully it will not be a long wait… 🙂

I hope it’s available soon too:-)
This is such a great heal, Tammy, and I’m especially intrigued by All the Murmuring Bones and its cover!
Thanks Jenni, I agree it looks really good:-)
It’s been ages since I’ve read something new with dragons, so I added The Shadow of the Gods to my TBR. Not sure it’ll be my next dragon read but it looked promising. I’m curious to read your thoughts on it.
I haven’t read a dragon book in a while either, plus I hear a lot of good things about John Gwynne.
I intend to listen to that Dispatcher sequel as I also enjoyed the first one.

It was really good, right? I didn’t even know there was going to be a sequel.
I can’t wait to start Shadow of the Gods! I’m trying to be “responsible” and read some other stuff first!
Ha ha me too, trying to read at least March and April books first:-)
I got The Final Girl Support Group too! Hope we enjoy it! Some of those others look cool!
I hope so too!
Do you think you’ll read The Stolen Kingdom? I got a copy too and like you I’m really wary of YA these days, but hey, it’s tempting when it’s right there in front of you! Was hoping maybe to get your thoughts if you read it before me, lol 😛
I’m not sure, honestly. I’m so busy but then I went back through my emails and realized I had a conversation with the publicist and now I almost have to read it, lol.
I’m really looking forward to reading several of these. The Ladies of the Secret Circus is high on my list. And The Murmuring Bones. I had requested The Final Girl Support Group but haven’t heard back. I am not hopeful I’ll be approved, but it’s on my wish list at least. I hope you enjoy all of these, Tammy!
Good luck with getting approved for Final Girl:-)
So many of these have amazing covers so of course I want them just for that LOL. I also got a copy of Bacchanal and I’ll admit I’m really curious to see what that one’s about so I’m going to try and read read it next month. I also really want to read The Echo Wife. Hope you enjoy these, Tammy!
Thanks Lisa! I’m going to try Bacchanal as well:-)
The Shadow of the Gods book is so pretty, I keep petting mine. It will also by my first John Gwynne, but hopefully not the last!

It really is pretty!
How many interesting books!! I’ll wait to see what you would think of Hard Reboot because that book has me intrigued!!
I think it’s going to be a lot of fun:-)
You got some great books this week! The Stolen Kingdom was on my Wednesday post recently too. Enjoy your books!

Thanks Lisa!
Lots of good books here. I’m still holding out for a Hendrix arc. Bayou Whispers looks and sounds awesome and you know I’m a sucker for books set in New Orleans. Why haven’t I heard of Bacchanal yet?
I swear Bacchanal just came out of nowhere, lol.
I got approved for The Shadow of the Gods on NG and it will also be my first Gwynne read. I’m very excited!

I hope we both love it:-)
I’m particularly looking forward to your review of Rabbits. You put that on my radar in a Future Fiction post a lil while ago and the blurb hooked me right in!
I can’t wait to read the new Gwynne book. I feel like I’ve been anticipating it for a long time.
Lynn 😀
