I’m linking up with Top Ten Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Check out upcoming Top Ten themes on Jana’s blog!
Today it’s a cover freebie, and I’ve decided to pull my favorite books with animals and other SFF creatures on the covers. I managed to find a really good mix, I think, which includes your normal everyday animals as well as some fantastical ones! Take a look:
Hollow Kingdom by Kira Jane Buxton
Jurassic Florida by Hunter Shea
The Sisters of the Winter Wood by Rena Rossner
The Girl in Red by Christina Henry
Untamed Shore by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar & Max Gladstone
Great list! The cover of The Sisters of the Winter Wood is so pretty.
I love that cover, it’s got a lot going on if you look closely:-)
Great covers! Impressive.
Thanks Steph!
Very intriguing take on this week’s meme! I like how you found so many different creatures to showcase
It was a lot of fun:-)
Interesting mix here. The Sisters of the Winter Wood has a really classic look to it, stands out nicely.
The story has a fairy tale feel to it, so you definitely got it right with “classic.”
What a lovely selection of covers, Tammy! I love them all – but perhaps have a special place in my heart for This is How You Lose the Time War, given how much I loved the book…
And the cover is really amazing:-)
I love the cover for Bunny.
My post .
Isn’t it great? It’s one of my favorites.
Love your take on this one, Tammy! I didn’t realize there were so many with animals on the covers.
I didn’t either! I love animals so it doesn’t really surprise me that I could pull all these together.
Oh what a fantastic topic idea! I pretty much love all of these, haha. The cover for Sharp Teeth really jumps out at me, as does Untamed Shore and The Secret Life of Souls. Looks like I have more books to check out!
All of these are worth reading:-)
I really want to find out what happens in Jurassic Florida!! Such great covers Tammy!
It’s a lot of fun! Thanks Heather:-)
I never thought about how many books have creatures on the covers before.
I didn’t either! I found it very easy to pull this together:-)
This is beautiful! You nailed your selection hahaha
Thanks Lashaan!
Oooh! I love all of these animal covers! Great list!
Thanks, it was fun to do:-)
Some very cool covers!!!
Thanks Stormi:-)
You did get a nice variety of animals. I’m glad you didn’t include any snake covers – I can’t handle those!
Happy TTT!

Ha ha, that’s true, there aren’t any snake covers which surprises me because snakes are EVERYWHERE lol.
I love your twist on this week’s theme!
Here’s my Top Ten Tuesday!
Happy Reading!
Thanks Kait:-)
Wonderful topic and I’ve read four of them – all three on the first row. I can’t wait to see the cover for the Hollow Kingdom sequel!
Oh me too!!
Haha- I smiled when I saw Jurassic Florida! I haven’t read it- but it sounds like maybe it’s worth checking out? Also- I love the cover for Untamed Shore but I’m iffy about Silvia Moreno Garcia. I read one of her earlier books and haven’t been able to get past it to try some of her other stuff.
It’s fun, and a quick read. Sort of ridiculous but sometimes you need that:-) Which SMG book did you read that you didn’t like?
There’s so many on here that I need to read! Thanks for the intro to Jurassic Florida – that’looks like fun!
Jurassic Florida is a lot of fun, very campy but fun:-)
Great idea for a theme – loved how you included real and fantastical creatures too
Hey, it was pretty easy to pull together:-P
I finally got a copy of Hollow Kingdom and gosh that cover! I really like it. Probably the only book I have with a lime green cover.
Oh cool, I hope you love it!
I love these, especially the covers for The Bone Ships and This is How You Lose the Time War, both of which I want to read at some point.
I loved the Bone Ships!
I love these! I’m always drawn to animals on covers, especially wolves and foxes.
Me too, I’m a big animal lover so I love when publishers put them on the cover:-)
Brilliant take on this week’s cover freebie. I love the cover for Sisters of the Winter Wood – it immediately stands out to me.
Lynn
It’s one of my faves as well:-)
What great cover choices! I still absolutely love the cover of Hella. And definitely yes to Bone Ships! Any cover with dragons is gonna be an immediate win for me, for obvious reasons.
