Today is a Top Ten Freebie, and as much as it pains me to share this with you, today I’m talking about ten of my most anticipated books of 2019 that somehow managed to go unread. Most of these are review books (sorry publishers!) and a couple are books I picked up at Comic Con. But all of them are books I’m DYING to read, and I’m still going to try to get to them in 2020. I know there are a couple of weeks left in the year, so it’s possible I might still read one or two. No links this week, since this is simply a sad, visual picture of neglect!
Great list! I still need to pick up a copy of Storm of Locusts, and I’d really like to read The Remaking and Violet, too. I hope you manage to get to these soon and that you enjoy them!

Thanks Jess, good luck to both of us:-)
Storm of Locusts was so good. Ita quick read too, just saying. There’s still time before 2020. 😉
I know, it’s pretty short! Let’s see if I can squeeze it in…
You can do it. 😀
I have Violet on my TBR. That’s a not-read-yet regret for me!

Glad I’m not alone:-)
The Bone Ships was a great read, and I have the first book in Rebecca Roanhorse’s series waiting for a read.
As for regrets, too many to count! Just looking at the review pile next to my desk, that includes Outcasts of Order & Mage-Fire War by L.E. Modesitt, Veil of Spears by Bradley P. Beaulieu, and Wolf of Oren-Yaro by K.S. Villoso.

At least Wolf of Oren Yaro doesn’t come out til next year right?
I read and loved the first in the Heartstone series and then forgot to read the rest. Good thing you reminded me about it.
I’ve heard the last one is really good:-)
I liked both Storm of Locusts and The Bone Ships. So much imagination wrapped up in those two.
Good to know, they are both a high priority:-)
I have a few I am still DETERMINED to get through this month, but def many that will be put off yet again!

I know, this month is going too fast and I don’t have time to read everything I want to!
Ha ha, oh boy do I have books I regret not reading in 2019! It never ends… Of your books, the only one I’ve read is Storm of Locusts, and I loved it. Good luck with getting to all of these!
Thanks Lisa! I know Storm of Locusts is pretty short, so hopefully it will get to the top of the pile soon:-)
I hope you find time for these books soon (if that’s something you want to do. 🙂 )
My TTT.
I have a lot of books I still wanted to get to but didn’t too!
I think we’re all having the same problem:-)
Me too!
Darkdawn!!! Well, for me, the whole trilogy. Haha. But it’s high on my 2020 TBR!
I love the Nevernight trilogy, I’m actually shocked I haven’t read Darkdawn yet!
Only ten? LOL I have The Bone Ships and The Beautiful yet to read. Guess maybe in January.

Well way more than ten, but I thought I’d better cap it off;-)
Just got through Steel Crow Saga myself, it was a fun ride! I want to start Nevernight next year (or at the very least, read ONE Kristoff book). I’m getting to Bone Ships after I get to Barker’s other series, as I bought the whole trilogy and haven’t read any of them yet. Dear lord our TBRs….

I know!! We’re all doomed, but I guess the good kind of doom:-)
I wish I’d read The Hate U Give this year because I finally bought it and I’ve been wanting to read it for ages but I’ve been more in the mood for fantasy books recently.
I absolutely LOVED The Beautiful. There seems to be mixed reviews for it but I thought it was great. One of my favourites from this year!

Hearing you say that you loved The Beautiful makes me so happy, I hope I love it too:-)
Yes… I’ve a bunch of books I wanted to read in 2019, too! There simply aren’t enough hours in the day for readers, are there?
I agree, it’s so sad to think of all the books I’ll never get to read!
For me, this sort of list will always be much longer than the one of books I finished. Just not enough time. I’d hoped to finish some series I’ve started (Ann Leckie’s Imperial Radch, Emma Newman’s Planetfall, Robert Jackson Bennett’s Divine Cities, Richard Knaak’s Black City Saint). Of your list I’d most like to read Darkdawn (have a copy but need to read the first 2 books first) and The Bone Ships. Good luck getting to some of these in 2020!
Everyone keeps telling me how good The Bone Ships is, so I will make it a priority:-)
I recommend Unnatural Magic but that’s because I really want to read it too, lol. I haven’t read any of the others. But I hope to read Unnatural Magic in the new year.
I hope we can both get to it:-)
As soon as I saw this post title, I had at least 15 flash into my mind (it doesn’t hurt that my physical TBR is plainly visible from where I sit). Sooo many books I didn’t get to. Haven’t read, but heard good things about most of those on your list.

Oh I have way more than ten that I want to read, I just had to limit it, lol.
Great idea! I have so many books I wanted to read this year too, but didn’t get too. I would have The Beautiful on mys list too – I might try to read it before the year ends!
I desperately want to read The Beautiful, but I desperately want to read ALL of these, lol.
We are topic twins for the freebie, haha. I shared a list of books I wanted to read but didn’t have time for as well. And seeing Darkdawn here reminds me that I never got around to the second book in that series even though I had every intention of reading it.

Darkdawn is one of my biggest regrets!!
Oh yes, I have a list of books I didn’t get to coming up on the blog schedule as well – though I’m hoping I can fit a couple more catch-up books in these next two weeks! 😀
That’s what I’m hoping too, maybe I can scratch at least one off this list before January:-)
The Beautiful is also one I was very excited for but haven’t been able to get around to this year! I hope you can get around to picking these all up in early 2020 x

Thanks Olivia, I hope you find time for The Beautiful as well:-)
Darkdawn, Flamebringer, and Steel Crow Saga would all be on my list too haha along with a million other books! I hope you love all these if you find the time to read them!
Thanks Brittany!
Hey I didn’t get to any of these this year either! High five!
Ha ha:-)
What a great topic for an end-of-the-year list. I have so many I wanted to read and didn’t get to (like everything sitting unread in my kindle or on my bookshelf). I hope you get a chance to read them soon! I’m hoping to make time for The Remaking either at the end of this month or in January. I’d also like to read Storm of Locusts at some point.
Good luck with your list too! It’s impossible to read everything!!
I’m so impressed that you could narrow yours down to 10. I wouldn’t even know where to start. I’m pretty sure I shouldn’t be bragging about that? xD I soooo recommend Steel Crow Saga and Darkdawn, though! I still have to read Bone Ships myself. I started it the other day, but it’s something I’m going to have to focus on reading and not read along with something else, so I put it on hold. The beginning is really interesting, though. :3
Well, these are the TOP ten. Obviously I have WAY more that I didn’t get to!
I still need to read Darkdawn. In fact I’ve bought the audio version. I suspect that might help me get to it more quickly.
Lynn
That’s a good idea. I’m so mad at myself for not reading it yet!
I’ve haven’t read any of these, but I have a long list of books I also didn’t get to. I could do a top ten times three! 😉 I’m hoping I can get to them next year, but I’m probably being way too optimistic. 😉
Great post! My TTT

Ha ha, I think we’re all in the same boat, lol.
Storm of Locusts was so awesome! I can’t wait to hear what you think of it. 😉
I can hardly wait!
ypu I wanted to read most of these books too! Hopefully we can get to them soon! 🙂
I hope we can!
Steel Crow Saga was a lot of fun! And I will be curious to see what you will think of The Bone Ships when you get to it.

Roanhorse- I keep saying it but I really need to try her stuff. I thought The Beautiful sounded pretty good too. Hopefully this year!
Interference looks so interesting!
